How We Prepare for Cold and Flu Season
Every year I dread fall, it’s the start of cold and flu season, and with school-aged kids, it can be rough. Germs easily pass from kid to kid in classrooms, playgrounds, and lunchrooms. It’s always difficult once one kid gets sick because they just pass it back and forth all season long. Each year I start my prep with a visit to the doctor to make sure they are all healthy and don’t have any major problems. Next, I stock up on our essentials to get us through the cold and flu season.

When it comes to being prepared for cold and flu season we have a few essentials we must keep in stock at all times. I always keep Pfizer products on hand for coughs, fever, runny nose, and more. Our Sick just got real.™ package arrived just in time for our first cough this season.
Inside the box was a line up of Pfizer Pediatric products including Children’s Advil®, Children’s Robitussin® and Children’s Dimetapp®. These are products I’ve grown to trust and use year after year with my children. Each one has a specific purpose in helping us be prepared for making our kids feel better as fast as possible.
Fevers, Aches, and Pains
Children’s Advil® is our first line of defense when it comes to dealing with fevers and any aches and pains. It’s usually one of the first products we use once we learn the kids are feeling under the weather.
Ease those aches and pains, while reducing a child’s fever fast with Children’s Advil® Suspension*, a great solution for kids as young as 2 and up to 11. Children’s Advil® comes in several great-tasting flavors, including Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavors. There’s also Infants’ Advil® White Grape, which provides unsurpassed fever relief (among OTC pain relievers) with a syringe for easy dosing for children 6-23 months.
Nasal Symptom Relief
For the stuffy or a runny nose, sneezing, and other nasal symptoms we depend on Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough. Perfect for the older kids, to help them feel better and get back to school sooner.
All in a great tasting grape flavor, Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough for ages 6+ tackles a child’s most bothersome stuffy and runny noses, all while working to relieve a cough.
Relief for Daytime and Nighttime
To fight any cold or flu you must be prepared with daytime and nighttime relief. A bad cough can keep you up for hours, making you tired and cranky during the day. Children’s Robitussin ® DM Day/Night Pack allows us to help the kids feel better during the day and the night. That’s extremely important on the road to recovery once they get sick.
Formulated just for kids, Children’s Robitussin® DM Day/Night Pack (Children’s Robitussin® Cough & Chest Congestion for ages 4+ and Children’s Robitussin® Nighttime Cough Long-Acting for ages 6+)** non-drowsy daytime formula helps break up chest congestion, while the long-acting nighttime formula relieves coughs and runny noses to help kids get the rest they need.
