Since I started blogging about Christian books one of the most popular things readers ask me about is about Devotionals and Bibles for kids and tweens. Most parents want to find something they know will introduce their kids to the word of God but they also want to make sure it includes all the elements they want in a bible or devotional for their child. Some ask about the text of the bibles, is it full text, mostly stories, even specific versions. Devotionals for adults are always popping up on the market and parents want to find devotionals for their tweens to help them with studying and reading the bible. I’m a member of the Z Blog Squad and this month we received a shipment of books for review. Any opinions expressed are my own.

Adventure Bible, NKJV
The Adventure Bible is a great bible for tweens. This bible is the New King Jame Version of the bible. It’s a hard cover bible and it includes the full text of the bible. This isn’t just stories pulled from the bible. I love all the amazing illustrations included in this bible because it really does draw kids into the text they are reading, making it a little more fun for them to read and enjoy the word. I love how this bible breaks down everything for your child in the introduction of the bible. Giving them a guide about how to use the bible. The words to treasure section is one that should be in all bibles. It’s scriptures that are key and probably great to memorize. I really like that section because there are scriptures that even I sometimes forget and to find the ones that are very important in the front of my bible, at the tip of my fingers is perfect for the times when I need to use them the most. I’ve seen other “kids” bibles and while they were very pretty and fun on the outside for kids the inside was just the standard text of the bible. One even had it in very fine print. The NKJV of the Adventure Bible is nothing like that, the editors really made this bible to be a resource for kids, one that they’ll love and use over and over again. One they can truly call their own. It’s a great baptism gift or if you’re just looking for a bible for your child.
