That Time I Met Fergie & You Can See Her On The #AMAs
Another great highlight of my recent trip to LA was and interview with Fergie. My husband is a huge Black Eyed Peas fan so he was super excited about it as well. I wasn’t sure what to expect from her when we walked in the room and sat down waiting for her arrival but as soon as she walked in the room warmed and filled with energy.
When Fergie sat down to talk to us about the AMAs but the first question about her family lead us into a whole session about her family life, being a mom and wife. She spoke lovingly about her son and husband. She told us about their personal family songs they make up and sing to their son at bedtime. It was like we were chatting with a friend we had known for a long time. We did talk about how she came about creating the song L.A Love, her first single since 2006. She stated the song was her contribution to the L.A. music scene, she was seeing all the things other California artist were doing and she wanted to make sure she made an impact as well.
Fergie says she reads WD magazine each morning. That’s when she gets her ‘me time’ to relax and spend some time on herself. She also shared that she thinks it’s important for everyone to have some time scheduled for themselves.
A great tip she shared for keeping her life organized is iCal. She said each member of her family has their own color tabs and she shares that calendar with all the important people in her life so everyone always knows whats going on. I need to download that app for sure. You can get your own dose of Fergie this weekend.
The 2014 American Music Awards will broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC. Also scheduled to appear at the world’s biggest fan-voted award show are previously announced 5 Seconds of Summer, Charli XCX, Mary J. Blige, Sam Smith and the evening’s host, Pitbull.
Fergie recently announced that she has been in the studio working on the follow-up to her 2006 solo album “The Dutchess,” which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 and spent 94 weeks on the chart. The album went on to sell 6.2 million copies and 28.5 million tracks worldwide and spawned three No. 1 hits on the Hot 100: “London Bridge,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” as well as the Top 5 singles “Fergalicious” and “Clumsy.” Since “The Dutchess’” release, Fergie has also released two multi-Platinum albums, “The E.N.D.” and “The Beginning,” with The Black Eyed Peas– with whom she has sold 31 million albums and 58 million singles worldwide.
