Sound of Music 50th Anniversary CD Review
I can’t believe that it’s been 50 years since the Sound of Music was released. It’s probably one of my favorite movies of all time, it’s definitely made the top ten list. I was so excited when I introduced the kids to it a last year. My favorite thing about this movie is of course the music. I received a copy of Sound of Music 50th Anniversary Edition for Legacy Recordings – a division of Sony Music. Although I received a free copy for review, all opinions expressed are my own.
Just looking at the cover I can instantly recall all the words of Do-Re-Mi. It’s probably my favorite song from the movie but when I’m watching the movie I find myself singing all the songs. Another favorite is Sixteen Going on Seventeen, So Long Farewell and My Favorite Things. When the CD arrived we played it in the car first. All of us were singing along at the top of our lungs to the songs we liked. I couldn’t believe the kids had remembered some of the words. This edition of the CD includes previously unreleased material from the film. It’s nice to be able to relive my favorite songs from the movie and find some newly discovered gems. This is a must add to your collection if you’re a fan of the movie.
