It’s release day for Sofia the First: Floating Palace and I am so excited to share my review, some clips and activity sheets with you today.  Sofia if probably my daughter’s favorite princess by far.  I think mainly because she’s close to her in age.  When she started to see the commercials for the DVD she immediately started to ask me to get it for her.  We’ve seen the Floating Palace a few times, more than I can remember since it aired on Disney Junior first, however she wanted to have it for her collection.  She wanted to be able to watch it anytime she wanted.  My daughter also loves this special episode because it includes an appearance of Ariel.  In the Floating Palace – Sofia and her family go on a family vacation on this ship, which is like a palace but on a boat.  Sofia meets a friendly mermaid and when her amulet lets her transform into a mermaid she goes on all kinds of adventures with her.  When the mermaid gets kidnapped Sofia must get her back to the mer-people or her family will be in great danger.

It’s a great story, one that shows what family is all about and helping friends in need.  The dvd also include three other episodes and it comes with a free friendship bracelet.  To celebrate the release today I have a few clips to share and some activity sheets.
