Show Me Your Superpower #Incredibles2Event

April 16, 2018 By Nickida

Show Me Your Superpower

My trip to Pixar Studios during the #Incredibles2Event was amazing. I had a blast learning about all the great things Pixar does and about the upcoming movie Incredibles 2. During the event, one of our sessions involved creating our own Super. I will admit, I’m the least creative person you will ever find. Odd since one of my passions is learning how to decorate cakes.

To help us with creating our super one of Pixar animators gave us a lesson about his process in creating a superhero. He broke down how certain design elements showcase the abilities of that superhero. Mr. Incredible, for example, was created with a triangle type of body, showcasing his upper body strength.

We were given twenty minutes to come up with a design of a superhero and a variety of paper as supplies to cut and shape while creating our design. My creative juices were not flowing that day but I looked for design elements that I liked.

I choose paper with some bling elements, and I wanted to use some positive words in my super as well. When thinking about what I wanted to create, I remembered the animator saying that usually, characters with round bodies are trustworthy and honest. So I went with a round figure for my super and used an affirmation for her head to show her ability to be a positive force.

If I had to give my super a power, I would say she’s a Jill of all trades. She’s strong, dependable, smart, creative, caring, and she can travel anywhere in an instant. If you had to create your own super how would you design it and what powers would you give it?

In INCREDIBLES 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

INCREDIBLES 2 opens in theatres everywhere on June 15th!
