On the Set of ABC’s The Real O’Neals
I’ve been sharing about my time on the set of several ABC Tuesday night comedies. This week I’m sharing my final set visit with the O’Neals. We visited the Irish Catholic family on set where actors Matt Shively and Bebe Woods came and showed us around. This is the second time I had the opportunity to spend time with the O’Neals. Earlier this year I sat down with some of the actors, producers, and show creators when they were trying to get picked up for a second season.
The Real O’Neals airs on Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30c on ABC. Tonight’s episode “The Real Halloween” is one you don’t want to miss. It’s funny and Halloween themed.
When Halloween arrives, or what Kenny refers to as “the gay Super Bowl,” he plans to go to Boystown to watch the festive costume parade. In an effort to prevent Kenny from attending, Eileen agrees to let him throw his own Halloween party at home. Eileen’s tolerance is ultimately tested when Kenny recruits Stuart and his gay friends to join the big party, and he makes a BIG costume change. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Shannon plan to pull off an epic Halloween prank.
When we arrived on set it was set up for Christmas. I walked around the house looking at all the small details that feel so much like home to me.
There were lots of family photos of the cast. They did a great job creating memories to add into the house. Things you probably don’t see on camera fully but they really do make it a home.
I was excited to learn that they coupon in their house. Funny and creative all at the same time. This really reminded me of my fridge at my house.
This kitchen was quaint, I could see myself creating all kinds of meals in this kitchen for my family. When you look at the details you find that it could be your own kitchen.
The O’Neals house was filled with holiday cheer all around for the filming of the holiday episode. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when the episode finally airs.
These were my favorite decorations from the house on the set. I just love them so much, I could see them in my own home.
While on the set I got a sneal peak of the tiny house on the set. I can’t tell you much about the house just yet. Keep watching the show to see more.
Don’t forget to tune in tonight for the whole line up of Tuesday night comedies on ABC television, starting with The Middle at 8/7c.
The Middle – “Halloween VII: The Heckoning” 8/7c
As Halloween approaches, Frankie is taken aback when she discovers that, if the circumstances ever arose where she and Mike got divorced, the kids would all choose to live with Mike. Meanwhile, Sue tries everything in her power to get her room back from Brick, and having to be so nice around girlfriend April all of the time leads Axl to lash out at his family.
American Housewife – “Wesport Zoombies” 8:30/7:30c
Katie, jealous of Taylor’s friendship with neighbor Viv (Leslie Bibb), reluctantly competes in the Westport Halloween “Zombie Run” after she finds out they’ll both be running. Meanwhile, Greg and Anna-Kat get a little too much in character for the “zombie” part of the run’s obstacle course.
Fresh Off the Boat – “Louisween” 9/8c
It’s Louis’ favorite holiday, and he makes every attempt to scare Jessica into the Halloween spirit, but she is buried in her word processor, drafting her first horror novel.
