Safety and Peace of Mind with GizmoPal by LG On Verizon Wireless Network
It’s Autism Awareness Month and I wanted to share information with my readers from my very own life. I’ve written about my son JB and his Autism diagnosis. He was diagnosed shortly after he turned three and it’s been life changing. Our son has always been a handful, he’s very adventurous and his lack of proper perception for danger makes for interesting times. A major concern for us as he gets older is making sure he’s safe and secure at all times. He like to run off whenever he sees open space. He often walks over to strangers and engage with them. When he’s with us we always keep an eye on him but when he’s at school or with other family we want to make sure he’s connected to us in some way. We had the opportunity to test the GizmoPal by LG from Verizon Wireless for two weeks. Any opinions expressed are my own.
The GizmoPal features one touch calling. With just the touch of a button your child can call you and check in. You can easily stay connected to them through the GizmoPal app on your smartphone. You can set two registered numbers that your child can call from their GizmoPal and set two approved numbers to be able to call them. So you don’t have to worry about them calling random phone numbers. This is a huge bonus for me. Our son isn’t at an age where he would be able to learn my number or his father’s in the event of an emergency so having the peace of mind that he just needs to push a button and we are connected works for me. Missed calls are also a thing of the past, set the GizmoPal to auto-answer calls from you.
Through the GizmoPal app you can easily find the device’s location. Know where your child is at all times and you can even receive notifications at set times. No more worrying if the bus made it on time or if your child went straight home. The GizmoPal is very kid friendly, it fits the writs securely and is also waterproof because we all know how kids can get. Available in two colors blue and pink they look like a cute accessory. It even speaks the current time. Managing the device from your app is easier than ever.
You can add or change contacts at anytime, change the volume settings, set to auto-answer, check the battery life and more. The app is compatible with smartphones using Android™ 4.0 or higher and iOS 7 or higher. Verizon customers can add the GizmoPal to their MORE Everything Plan for $5 monthly access. The initial cost of the GizmoPal is $79.00, that’s a small price to pay for peace of mind in my opinion. GizmoPal is suitable for kids ages 4 and older. I would say it would be a good fit for kids in elementary school and then you would have to explore other options for older children. However parents of children with special needs may be able to use it beyond elementary school age as long as the band still fits your child’s wrist. If you are searching for something for older children, Verizon also offers the FamilyBase and it supports the MamaBear App. Both of these features numerous options for keeping track of all your child’s phone usage and online behavior.
