As the days get warmer and longer, it seems like time starts flying by faster. Even though we’ve got all these extra hours of daylight, it’s easy to fill the hours with fun family activities, and we lose track of or forget how to manage our time. With Father’s Day right around the corner, it’s probably a good idea to go ahead and nail down the gifts for dad and have the box checked off our lists.
And, after the last year of entire families being locked down together, it’s more important than ever to thank him for his patience, love, and just being a great father all around. This list will help you shop for the dads in your life, no matter their age or style.
Have Fun With It
While we’re all letting out a collective sigh of relief that this Father’s Day, we’ll actually be able to gather together safely, it makes it a better time to relieve some of the stress of last year with a fun gift. Think of his sense of humor and what would tickle him the most.
Maybe if it’s just the two of you (or you want to give him something discreetly), you could go with something sexual, like a dick size calculator. Things like shock pens or hand buzzers are great for the kid-at-heart type dad.
Cash Is King
For a while, it seemed as if the nation was facing a coin shortage. Single-handedly turn that around through your gift for dear old dad. Cash will forever be king, so a sweet card expressing your sentiments towards him and a nice stack of cash or a check is always a good idea.
Don’t overlook the fun of lottery tickets, either. If he’s a bit of a risk-taker or a gambler, these are great add ons to a physical gift, or several of them make a gift on their own. Who knows, maybe he’ll really hit the jackpot, and you’re gifting yourself a huge inheritance as well!
The point is, who doesn’t love cash? And, it’s such an easy gift to give, you don’t have to sweat over making sure you get him the “right thing” because it’s the right thing for everybody!
Techie Trinkets
Is the father you’re shopping for into the latest and greatest gadgets? There’s always a good sale with most major electronic retailers as we inch closer to Father’s Day, so why not give him the gift of the latest smartwatch or smartphone? Maybe he’s more comfortable picking that out for himself.
You could buy a gadget he may not want to spring for but would find interesting. Drone? Electric Coffee Mug? Check. If your house is still full of little ones that make a ton of noise, why not grab him a pair of noise-canceling headphones? Bonus – you get to borrow those when you need a break too!
Dad Bod Friendly
Is your dad getting or has achieved Dad Bod status? Nothing wrong with that! In polls, it seems that most women prefer the dad bod to other physiques. But maybe he wants to work on his figure, nothing wrong with that either.
Consider gifting him some workout equipment and clothes. Resistance training is excellent and easy to get into. Maybe he already lifts but has been eyeing some new dumbells and just hasn’t pulled the trigger. You could easily create a fun basket or package with tons of gym items like resistance bands, weights, athletic clothing, and a water bottle.
Have fun with it, and it will show, and he’ll appreciate it. A gym membership is also an excellent option if you don’t have room in the house to set up a designated place for getting your fitness on.
Subscriptions
From food subscriptions (yes, a monthly Bacon subscription is a thing) to magazine subscriptions, you really can’t go wrong with these types of gifts. The idea is pretty simple, and you think of a hobby the dad you’re shopping for is into and sign him up for a subscription to send him things that compliment said hobby.
Whether that’s a catalog on interest, a clothing box, or a food subscription, these gifts really knock it out of the park because they’re a continuous reminder of how much you care and want them to enjoy the things they enjoy.
Happy Shopping and Happy Father’s Day!
