Pentel #ShopletReveiws

March 11, 2013 By Nickida

Sheaffer Fountain Pen 1

I’ve always admired people who have great penmanship.  Growing up in Trinidad part of our curriculum in primary school was learning to write in cursive and we had to do it using a wet ink pen.  If you’re not familiar with a wet ink pen.  They are those old fountain pens that you had to buy the ink and fill the pens, the problem with these pens is even though they were great for writing they bled ink a lot and as a child it would get messy very easily.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always had a fascination with pens.  I love collecting them.  When I was in college I would attend job fairs and conferences just to snag pens from different companies.  I especially like the fine point pens because I like the feel when I am using them.  Since wet ink pens are such a hassle to me I started to use gel pens when they started to become more popular.  I really liked them because you get the fluid flow like a wet ink pen but not all the nasty mess.  So when I got the opportunity to review some pens from Pentel for #ShopletReviews I was so excited to give them a try.

I was set one blue pen, one black, one mechanical pencil and a pack of multi-color pens to review from Shoplet Office Supplies.

I noticed that on the top of all the pens there was a little cover to keep the ink safe in the pen so it wouldn’t spill or dry before you got it home.  You simply pull it off and start writing.

These are all the pens I received except for one black on that I am currently using constantly with my blog planner.  As you can see there lots of great colors.  I love how bright the pink pen is and the purple is probably a close second.  The blue and black both have two different point size.

I loved using these pens and I noticed right away that the ink color on the gel pens is much more bold than the regular pen.  This is the PENBL107A – Pentel EnerGel X Roller Ball Retractable Gel Pen.

As you can see from some of the colors that I used they are all bright and they write smoothly.  They dry fast so they don’t smudge and I also notice I didn’t get any gaps in my writing.  The ink flowed through all my writing.  The rubber grips on the pens are long enough to keep you comfortable while writing.  It’s much better than some of the other gel pens I’ve used in the past.  They are also refillable.  The signature on the last line is the one with the pencil.  I liked that the point wasn’t fragile and it didn’t break easily.  When I was done using it I simple pushed on the point while clicking the top to push it back in and it was fine.  It held much more weight than a regular mechanical pencil.
