Yesterday I shared a behind the scenes look of ABC’s new show “The Rookie”. It was such a great experience and I had lots of fun with the cast and the bloggers on the trip. Today I’m sharing a special behind the scenes look on the set of Single Parents with executive producer Jason Winer and actor Jake Choi (“Miggy”).
Having the opportunity to walk around on the set of different television shows are so much fun. I love it because when I’m watching the shows again I get to relive my time on the set and all those shows end up holding a special place in my heart.
We started the set visit with executive producer Jason Winer he talked to us about the filming of the show and how they manage a show with six kids. With so many main characters for the show, they have multiple sets for the show. There are houses for each of the parents and their kids, the school, playground, the Winebrary and more.
According to Jason, there are real-life buildings in LA that matching several of the sets, including the Winebrary. This helps for when they may need to get shots in front of the building.
The classroom from the show is an exact replica of an actual classroom in LA. They used the classroom to film the pilot and once the show was picked up they needed to recreate a set for filming.
The living spaces were amazing. If I had to choose one house I think it would be Leighton Meester who plays Angie D’Amato, but the photos of Brad Garrett who plays Douglas Fogerty house above are amazing. If I didn’t have kids it would be my favorite.
Leighton’s house reminded me of my family home the most. It looked lived in. I could see my family making memories in this house. That’s what makes these visits cool. They look so real, so you know much thought and effort goes into making them look amazing.
I loved taking a step into Roy’s Fashion Passion Studio. It was simply amazing. He’s one of the kids on the show, and if you watch it you already know he takes his fashion serious.
This room is amazing. I think I need Rory to come decorate my daughter’s room for her. I love how this room showcases his childhood and his love for fashion all at the same time.
We had the opportunity to meet all the adult members of the cast during the tour. They were all amazing and stopped to take quick photos with us before heading back on set for filming.
