I’ve been excited about the Live Action Lion King since D23 2017 when we got a sneak peek at the film. They didn’t show much but based on the cast announcements alone, I was ready for the film. Over the Thanksgiving weekend Walt Disney Studios dropped a teaser trailer and poster and fans went crazy. It was Black Panther frenzy all over again on my Facebook timeline. It’s seems fans are read for the new live action Lion King.
Already folks are talking about who will play who in the movie, and if you’re not totally tapped into the entertainment universe like me, you are probably in for a surprise when you hear how awesome the cast is.
For anyone worried about James Earl Jones reprising his role, don’t be, he’s set to return as Mufasa. And I know it’s old news for the Bee Hive but Queen Bey herself will be voicing Nala in the film. For me I’m most excited about the voice actors for Simba and Scar. The first will be voiced by Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino, and the latter will be voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor. These two are brilliant actors in my book so I know they are going to bring a whole new personality to their characters.
There isn’t much else to share about The Lion King, but I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated on all the details. For now save the date!
