I love exploring new cities when I travel. And the USA has a ton of incredible cities to discover. Across the country, you’ll find something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of visiting museums, architecture, going shopping, or spending time outdoors. Let’s look at a few American cities more closely. You may decide to add a few of these places to your bucket list or take an epic road trip this summer.
Ontario, CA
Ontario is a popular destination because it is near Los Angeles. You can stay at a cheaper hotel in Ontario and drive into L.A. for the day. Some affordable hotels include the Comfort Suites, the Best Western, and the Red Roof Inn. While you’re in Ontario, why not indulge in some retail therapy? The Ontario Mills Mall has over 200 stores with something for every taste. Another shopping mall, Victoria Gardens, is near the Ontario Mills Mall and has even more shops. Also, for history and arts enthusiasts, Ontario has the Museum of History and Art and the Graber Olive House.
Phoenix, AZ
As the sixth-largest city in the USA, Phoenix has tons of places for travelers to stay. If you’re a fan of history and art, you should stay in the downtown core. Some exciting spots to add to your itinerary include the Phoenix Art Museum, the Arizona Science Center, the Heard Museum, the Phoenix Trolley Museum, and the Children’s Museum of Phoenix. Check out the Hyatt Regency Phoenix downtown for a hotel that won’t break the bank. Other fun activities in Phoenix include shopping, golfing, hiking, and more.
Reno, NV
When you first think about Reno, gambling might come to mind. And yes, Reno is a great spot for making a few wagers. However, it’s also a family friendly destination. Even though there are wedding chapels and nightclubs, there are also many parks and museums. With the Sierra Nevada Mountains nearby, you can take the family for a hiking excursion during the day. In the winter, Reno places you near Lake Tahoe and some world-class ski hills.
Cincinnati, OH
There’s always a lively event happening in Cincinnati! Thousands of visitors flock to the city for the Buckle Up Music Festival. Take the family for an outing to the Botanic Garden or a game at the Great American Ball Park. There’s also great shopping, an exciting downtown core, and lots of great restaurants to try. The best time to visit Cincinnati is during the spring and fall months when it isn’t too hot outside.
Pittsburgh, PA
Pittsburgh is a vibrant city with many bridges. You’ll definitely travel across a few of them when you visit the city. There are lots of magnificent architecture to discover in the Steel City. Take a ride up the trolley of the Duquesne Incline for a stunning view from the top of the escarpment. For a cheap hotel deal, stay on the east side of the city at the Quality Inn University Center or the Springhill Suites Mariott.
