When it comes to holidays, cruises can be a pretty divisive subject. There are some holidaymakers who’ve sworn them off completely whilst others are at the complete other end of the scale, and simply refuse to travel any other way. But, for every negative that you might hear about cruises, don’t let any of it put you off as there’s always a positive to make up for it. If you’ve never been on a cruise before and are considering it for your next holiday, then here are some top reasons to give them a chance.

The massive price tag on some cruises could be off-putting, but when you think about everything that comes included with what you pay, it’s easy to see that actually, cruises are a fairly cheap and value for money option. Going on holiday can be expensive, so it makes sense to get as much as you can for what you pay. For the price of your ticket, you will have all your meals included, entrance to any on-ship entertainment and shows, use of the pools and gym and much more. It’s entirely possible to cruise on the cheap, although you might want to take some extra money for excursions at ports, alcohol, shopping, and spa services.

There’s a reason why cruises are so popular with families and older people – they are certainly a less stressful way to travel. Compared to a regular holiday, when you’re cruising you don’t have to worry about where to visit or what restaurants to eat in, as all your itinerary will be planned out for you and there will be guides available at each port to point you in the direction of the best sights and attractions. All you really need to do is show up, so if you want a completely worry-free trip, it’s perfect for you.

If meeting new people and making friends is one of the high points of going on vacation for you, then look no further than a cruise ship. Yes, you might cross paths with some annoying people just like anywhere else, but you’ll also have the chance to meet some really great people and make friends who you wouldn’t have met otherwise. Cruises tend to be more social than other types of holiday, and since you’re all in a confined space there’s more opportunity to see the same people several times and get to know them.
