Three Reasons to Consider Hiring a Car on Your Family Package Holiday

August 29, 2019 By Nickida

Package holidays can be a great way to have all of the main elements of your holiday taken care of in one go – the flights, transport to the hotel, and the accommodation, along with meals if you don’t go self-catering. Because this kind of arrangement includes airport transfers, many people don’t consider that they might want their own transport once they are at the resort, and then later regret not taking advantage of airport car hire.

However, you can often have a much more enjoyable, stress-free holiday if you do get a car for your family. Here are three reasons why:

A Better Transfer Experience

You can often get good deals on airport car hire, and book these prior to your trip so that you can collect your car as soon as you land. This can end up being a more pleasant, and faster way to get to your hotel. In the past, it may not have been too appealing to have to find your way to your hotel in another town from an airport, but thanks to sat nav apps, it is now super easy to drive to destinations anywhere, even in foreign countries, so you have no reason to rely on a transfer coach with a local driver.

If you, for example, pick up affordable car hire at Malaga airport, you can be on the road and taking the fastest route to your hotel straight away, whereas with transfers there is all the waiting around for other guests, and then waiting while people are dropped off at different hotels. It isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it can also be a bit frustrating when you just want your holiday to truly begin, or when you have kids who are getting bored.

Explore at Your Leisure

If you have your hire car for the duration of your stay, you’ll be able to see places outside of your resort without having to navigate local public transport in a language you don’t speak or paying a lot for organised excursions to other places from your tour operator. When you do go out for the day, you also won’t have to worry about being in certain places at certain times and can enjoy yourself freely, returning to your hotel when you want to, not when the tour bus leaves.

Carry Luggage More Easily

If you need to take a lot of things out with you for the day, for instance, because you are travelling with a baby or because you want to take equipment with you to do an activity, then it is much easier having a car than having to lug all of this around with you while walking or taking buses – especially when it is hot.

As you can see, there are plenty of reasons why having a car can make your holiday easier, and also help you get the most enjoyment out of it!
