The weather in Baltimore is quite cool and cloudy there days. We’ve had a few scorchers but nothing major. With summer approaching quickly, I have been working on increasing my daily water intake. Hydration is important year round but even more in hot summer months where you come become dehydrated quickly. Today I wanted to share some of the reasons why hydration is important in summer and I’m also including two cute items from Zak products that will help you stick to increase your fluids.
Preventing Dehydration
This is the most obvious reason to stay hydrated during the summer, but I put it at the top because most people forget to stay hydrated especially during the hot summer months. Even if you’re drinking a lot of water already, you’ll need more in the summer months when you’re spending time outdoors or being active. It’s important to add more fluids when you’re sweating more than usual.
Prevents Headaches
Recently I had to have a visit with my PCP for headaches. They started out of the blue and was so bad, it made it difficult for me to do much of anything all day. They weren’t my usual migraines so I wanted to get a check up. She pointed out that I may be getting headaches because my body is dehydrated and needs more fluids. I immediately noticed a huge difference once I started drinking more water.
Helps With Weight Loss
Drinking water can actually help you lose weight. Studies have proven that people who drink water on diets lose more weight on average vs people who did not increase their water intake. Water helps flush our systems and once you start drinking more water you may start to notice your body change. It also helps with exercise if it’s a part of your weight loss plan, giving you the ability to work out longer and feel more rested after workouts.
Helps Improve Overall Health
There are so many great benefits for drinking water beyond the ones I mentioned above. It’s why doctors encourage us to get a specific daily intake amount of water for our overall health. Increasing your water intake to help prevent infections like Urinary Tract Infections and balancing your pH. Increased water can help with healthier appearing skin, constipation, and so much more. Even if you’re not drinking any water, adding a few glasses can help improve your lifestyle in a variety of way.
During the summer months, we are so busy with the kids home, we try to spend more time outdoors, so it’s my goal to always make sure we are all hydrated and drinking as much water as possible. Thanks to Zak products I have two new products to help me do just that.
