I’ve made quite a few changes this year to help me get my weight in check. It’s been the highest it’s ever been before in my life and I wanted to make serious changes. Aside from exercising I’ve made major changes to my diet to help me lose weight while I get my health in check. One thing I’ve been changing is my snacking habits. I’ve been looking for better snack options and small meals to help me feel full and satisfied but free of extra sugar and other junk. Heres four healthy snacks for your fitness journey.
Wild Planet Salmon Pouches
On days when I go to the gym, my metabolism seems to be in high gear. I’m always hungry and looking for something to eat. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t hindering my progress by eating a lot of junk. Wild Planet Salmon Pouches help me eat better, especially my small plates snacks. Sometimes you need a little more than usual to squelch hunger and this is my go-to snack when I’m very hungry between meals.
To make my small plate I take the salmon out of the pouch and put it on top of some crackers then I sprinkle with feta cheese. I add a little sea salt for some flavoring and that’s all I need. When I’m extra hungry I put a slice of avocado on each cracker. Four crackers are the most I eat.
Sustainably caught in Alaskan waters, Wild Planet’s new Wild Sockeye Salmon Pouch and Wild Pink Salmon Pouch deliver delicious ready-to-eat nutrition. These convenient Wild Salmon Pouches are packed with protein, Vitamin D and Omega-3s and—like all Wild Planet products—contain no added liquid or fillers. They’re also completely sugar-free!
Slammers Superfood Snack
I know that Slammers Superfood Pouches are marketed towards kids, but I absolutely love them as a snack option for myself. They are the perfect package size so I don’t feel like I’ve overeating. They are handy to carry with me in my purse just about anywhere I go. When I want something that’s a little sweet, I grab one of these pouches. It packed with so much goodness there’s no guilt picking up one of these pouches and enjoying.
Slammers Snacks are tasty, superfood snacks designed to fuel kids with organic fruits and vegetables such as mangos, acai, sweet potato, and yumberries. Not only are they a healthy alternative to sugar-laden candies and convenience store snacks, but Slammers are also, crumb-free, easily digestible, and serve as a great source of essential vitamins.
Popcorn
Popcorn is actually another great snack option that has very few calories as long as you don’t add anything to your popcorn. I purchase the kernels in bottles from the store and pop them for myself with a little bit of oil. I can use vegetable oil or olive oil for making my popcorn. I add a little sea salt at the end and I have fresh popcorn that isn’t packed with preservatives or extra ingredients. Even if I add any ingredients I know what I’m adding to the popcorn so I determine how healthy and unhealthy it will be.
Nuts & Dried Fruit
I’ve never really been a huge fan of nuts or dried fruit, but since I started to make changes to my diet both have played a huge part in my food plans. Nuts are perfect for snacking and for enhancing meals. I can add nuts to salads, soups, and other meals to enhance them and add more texture, flavor, and protein. Dried fruit is a great replacement for sweets. Since lots of fruits have their own natural sugars, drying them brings out that sweetness in a different way. It’s nature’s candy. You can also eat dried fruits in your meals as a way to enhance and make it better.
These are just a few healthy snack options for anyone who’s working on a fit and healthy lifestyle. What are some of your favorite healthy snack options?
