My How To Draw Baymax Drawing Demo Experience
I can’t draw at all, even my stick figures look like they would use some help so I didn’t even notice on our schedule for my Disney Big Hero 6 Press trip that we had a drawing demonstration. I was invited on an all expenses paid blogger trip to LA with Disney and ABC Television. Any opinions expressed are my own.
I can honestly say that I have received some once in a lifetime experiences on my two press trips with Disney. This is stuff people keep on their bucket lists and dream of all their lives. These are things I never thought I would be doing but I have and it’s always amazing. On my most recent trip we had a drawing demo with Big Hero 6 Character Design Supervisor Jin Kim. If you’re looking to get into animation as a career choice then you would have loved to spend the time we did with Jin. When we walked in we each had one sheet of paper and a pencil to draw our Baymax, we sat down and waited for our first set of directions. Within a minute I realized none of us had an eraser and I flipped my page to draw on the other side.
Drawing came so natural to Jin Kim, of course he probably drew Baymax a million times by now but he was so comfortable drawing on his touch screen. He chatted with us while drawing and giving us instructions on what to do with our drawing. He was so easy going and fun to work with. He shared with us some of the other drawings he worked on in the movie and when he was done with our demo we asked him to show us how fast he could draw Baymax. He did it in under a minute.
If you would like to learn about drawing your own Baymax then check out this youtube video demonstration from Disney and you could learn from Jin Kim as well.
