Date Night at Home with Help from Crafted with Love
I’ll be the first to admit, that I need to spend more alone time with my spouse. Since having children, so much of our time is spent focusing on taking care of our children. We’ve promised each other we would add in date nights but so far it’s been a hectic start of the school year. Slowly we are falling back into old habits and we’re not spending time with ourselves like we promised we would. Since we spend so much time at home I wanted to find a way for us to bond at home. That’s when Crafted with Love reached out about trying one of their boxes.
Disclosure: This post is in partnership with Crafted with Love Date Box, any opinions expressed are my own.
When our box arrived I opened it up to see what theme we received and to my surprise, it was a Pizza Chinese Food Movie Date Night Box. I looked inside to see what kind of activities were included and tucked it away for my husband came home so we could look over it together.
Inside the box were the items we needed to do the activities in the box. Each themed box has four to five activities/date night challenges, created to help couples bond, help inspire laughter, and to help you reconnect while spending quality time together.
The booklet lets us know exactly what’s inside our box when we open it. Our date night box included four challenges. After some time debating where we wanted to start we picked the first challenge and started our date night at home.
To get photos of us participating in the activities we asked our kids to help with the first challenge. It was a fun game. We had to write numbers on pieces of paper, ball them up, put them in a small bowl, shake the bowl and then pour the pieces of paper on the table. The objective is to have your partner talk you through finding the pieces of paper and picking them up with chopsticks. Since your eyes are closed or you’re blindfolded you need help from them to get the job done.
Once you’ve placed four of the pieces of paper back in the bowl you open the last piece and see what number you have left. Find the corresponding number in the activity booklet in the box and follow the direction that applies to that number. My round ended with me having to give my husband a message. His round ended with my having the option to choose what from the other four choices on the list.
By the end of the activity, the kids wanted to give it a try. We ended up doing some of the other activities in the box on our own without the kids and didn’t take photos of those since we wanted to enjoy our time together. Overall I would say that the box was a great idea. It was a fun an creative way for us to spend time together as a couple and reconnect.
