Bake Up Magic with Tastefully Simple
Most people wouldn’t want to turn on their ovens during the summer time but I absolutely love baking and I don’t wait for fall/winter to use my own and bake. I actually prefer to bake up homemade goodies for my family instead of buying store brought products. Whether I’m baking from scratch or using a box mix, doing it myself has a lot of appeal to me and it also helps relieve stress. And I’m sure if you have kids home from school you know just how stressful summer time can be. Tastefully Simple reached out to me to review some of their products, any opinions expressed are my own.
Tastefully Simple provides exceptional tasting experiences and lifestyle solutions, through simple, delicious food and enriching business opportunities. Founded in 1995, Tastefully Simple started as a small company when founder Jill Blashack Strahan decided to offer taste-testing while selling her gift baskets. Once she noticed the gourmet food she was offering tasting of were out performing her gift baskets Tastefully Simple was born. It’s one of the first national home-tasting companies. For a company that started with just nine consultants to hit over 28,000 within twelve years is remarkable. Tastefully Simple is also one of the first corporate sponsors of Share Our Strength’s No Kids Hungry Pledge. They’ve achieved a lot since their founding and I’m sure they are just getting started.
While browsing the Tastefully Simple website I knew I wanted to try one of their bake mixes and I was beyond thrilled when I came across the Decadent Desserts Assortment that features fives mixes, caramel sauce and ice-cream salts. It was the perfect kit to try. The products arrived and I immediately wanted to bake. A few days later the urge to bake hit and I decided on the Chewy Chocolate Cookie Mix.
These Chewy Chocolate Cookies were so delicious. They were so easy to make. All you need is a little oil and hot water for the mix. The box says it makes about 24 cookies but I got about 18 cookies in total. I use a mini ice-cream scoop to form my cookies so they were’s too big. From start to finish I had fresh baked cookies in about 18 minutes. They had a nice crunch on the outside of the cookie but when you bite into them they were soft and chewy. These were gone by the next day, the kids ate almost a whole batch that same night after dinner. They are already asking me to make them again. With Tastefully Simple anyone can be a baker, these fool proof mixes brings gourmet food within everyone reach.
I’ve been thinking about what to bake up next with the rest of my items from Tastefully Simple and I think this M&M’s S’mores Brownie Pie from The Peanuts Gang is going to be my next attempt using the brownie mix from my package. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I know it’s going to be a hit with the kids. Be sure to check out Tastefully Simple for more gourmet food options besides baking mixes, and hop on over to The Peanuts Gang to try their recipe.
