They Asked, I Said Yes, So I’m Heading to LA to Disney Studios
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the email that was inviting me to Los Angeles on all expense paid trip to visit the Walt Disney Studios Lot, the Disney Animation Studios and the Disney Toon Studios to celebrate the Blu-Ray/DVD release of Frozen and The Pirate Fairy. When I first saw the title of the email in my inbox I just assumed it had something to do with the #DisneySide party I was selected to host or maybe another Baltimore blogger was inviting me to theirs and so I just left it unopened for almost an hour. When I finally opened it I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I called my husband to come read it for me. I started jumping and screaming, I couldn’t believe that I got invited. It’s a huge deal for me and knew I wanted to go, but I first chatted with my husband about be going and him being home with our kids. He didn’t hesitate to say “Yes, of course – Baby you deserve it.” So that was it I responded and accepted the invite. So on Monday, February 10th I’ll be heading to LA on my first Disney Blogger Event. Here’s what I’ll be doing in LA for my trip.
Frozen is set to release on March 18th and I’ll be getting some behind the scenes looks at the making of the movie and lots of other fun stuff including:
- Travel to Walt Disney Animation Studios for a behind the scenes look at the making of FROZEN including:
- Q&A with Director, Chris Buck and Producers, Jennifer Lee and Peter Del Vecho
- Hands-on demonstration of the Rigging process lead by Character TC Supervisor, Gregory Smith
- Voice-over recording session with FROZEN’S Audio Engineer, Gabe Guy
On Wednesday we’ll be seeing an advanced screening of the newest in the fairy movies – The Pirate Fairy. My daughter has been waiting for this to be released and it will be available for purchase on April 1st. Some of the other activities for that day include:
- Travel to the DisneyToon Studios for a look at THE PIRATE FAIRY including:
- Advance screening of the THE PIRATE FAIRY
- Sit down with THE PIRATE FAIRY Director Peggy Holmes and Producer Jennifer Magee-Cook
- Walk through the creation of “Zarina”, The Pirate Fairy from story to character design to animation
I’m very nervous and excited about this trip. It will be my first time traveling alone in a very long time, my first trip to LA and of course my first trip to Disney Studios. I’ve checked the weather every day since getting my email, read my invite email a hundred times and even second guessed myself as to how I got picked but none of it really matters because in five days I’ll be heading to LA for the opportunity of a lifetime and I plan to enjoy it and make the most of it all. I’ll have so much to share when I return so make sure you follow me on Twitter (@nickicoupons) and Instagram (nostephens) for updates during the trip. I’ll be using the hashtag #DisneyBloggersEvent #DisneyFrozenEvent #DisneyPirateFairy during and after the event to share. To get ready for my trip my daughter and I have been watching the Disney channel on our Roku and looking at all the clips from Frozen, including the “Let It Go” Sing Along clip & the Frozen multi-language sequence clip. You can check them out below:

Thanks to the PR reps and Disney for choosing me to attend this awesome opportunity and sending me on an all expenses paid trip to LA. Any thoughts and opinions I share are my own.
