I have to admit, I haven’t shared much about my journey towards better health. I ended 2018 in an odd space both mentally and physically. I didn’t make New Years Resolutions. I didn’t create post after post about my plans, in fact, I started on the last day in 2018. For me I felt it was better to end the year with a new outlook, hoping it would continue to motivate me in 2019. One area I had to take a hard look at and really decide to make difficult changes was in regards to our food intake. We needed to eat better.

When I received the opportunity to try Alpha Foods Burritos from Moms Meet I wasn’t sure what to expect, but with me wanting to make better food choices for my family I decided to give it a try. The first thing I can share about this process is how difficult it was for me to actually purchase these products. I used the handy store locator link on the Alpha Foods website, found a supermarket near me and headed to the store. It took five trips to different stores to finally find the products. We drove twenty minutes from our house to purchase the Alpha Foods products. What’s alarming about that for me, is how hard it can be to find quality and healthy food options for families living in urban and some suburban areas.
When we finally found the Alpha Foods products I was happy they had at least three burrito options and two pot pie options. I picked up the Chick’N Fajita, Mexicali, and the Philly Sandwich in the burritos. For the pot
We have never tried a meat-free protein that was created to look and taste like meat. We’ve had meatless dinners before, but nothing like this. What’s great about the Alpha Foods Burritos and Pot Pies is that they are easy Meatless Monday meal options for busy and on-the-go families. They are reasonably priced and it only takes about three minutes to prepare.
Alpha Burritos are packed with 11 grams of protein, all the ingredients are clean quality ingredients, free of GMOs, hormones, corn syrup, cholesterol, artificial preservatives and all animal products. If you’re looking for ways to eliminate meat from your diet, Alpha foods is a great place to start. While researching the product I saw review after review from customers who love the Alpha Foods line. It’s one of the reasons I decided to give it a try when I had the opportunity with Moms Meet.
The Alpha Pot Pie come in a golden flaky crust, and is packed with meat-free protein in every bite. The sauces in the pot pies are dairy and meat free, so you know it’s a quality meal option especially for vegans. It’s the mission of Alpha Foods to offer high quality foods without sacrificing on taste.
Fresh out of the microwave you can see the pot pie does indeed look like it has a golden crust. I was surprised how amazing it looked coming out of the microwave and not the oven. It was perfect. I wanted to showcase it this way since most people probably won’t use a sandwich press to add grill marks. You really don’t need it but you can take the additional step for a different finish of your burrito.
My family were big fans of the burritos. They were very tasty to us. We couldn’t even tell it was meat-free. It’s one we would try again. The pot pie didn’t really had a strong flavor for us. We couldn’t really taste the beefy cheddar flavor. We are planning to try the second pot pie and see if we like that one better.
All in all, we plan to add Alpha Foods to our meal plan when we want to add in some more meatless options for lunch and dinner.
