My kids love Play-Doh, even the older ones haven’t fully out grown it yet.  I especially love that it’s so easy to mold and use, the kids can create all kinds of amazing things.  Play-Doh is also a great gift idea for school parties and goodie bags.  They offer them in small containers that are perfect for gifting.  They’ll be in our stockings this year as well.  I was provided samples of Play-Doh and the new Play-Doh Seek & Squish PlayDate Digital App for review.  Any opinions expressed are my own.

I love interactive apps for kids, I’ve reviewed one before from PlayDate Digital for My Little Pony.  This new app is a fun learning adventure for kids, you use the app to find the hidden animals within the story.  This isn’t just an app though it’s also a digital story book.  The entire book is created out of digital Play-Doh.

About the Play-Doh Seek and Squish App:

Play-Doh: Seek and Squish is an original storybook made entirely of digital Play-Doh! In this ‘Seek and Squish’ adventure, friendly animals have gathered to welcome you, but suddenly, they are hiding all over a vibrant Play-Doh world. To find the animals, you need to squish your way through a variety of gorgeous Play-Doh landscapes with swipes and taps of the screen. Can you find all the animals in every habitat?

This interactive storybook adventure has eight colorful habitats where animals are ready to play hide-and-go-seek with you. The app is geared towards pre-school children.  For me our three year old is Autistic and non-verbal and I use lots of different apps and software programs to continue to provide him with educational play.  He really enjoyed using the app and the Play-Doh together.  While he doesn’t get much of what they are saying about the animals he loved finding them hidden in the stories.  For him we use the “read to me” mode, this works perfectly for him because he get to hear the story being read to him.  He prefers it that way and enjoys listening along.  After he finds an animal he can also follow along with creating his own with his Play-Doh.  The app is very hands on and perfect for our son.
