You’ll Laugh, You’ll Cry, You’ll Want to See it Again #BigHero6
Ever since I saw the first image from Big Hero 6 I was intrigued. I knew I wanted to know more about this movie and and as more and more information came out I know it would be a movie I wanted to see. I was invited by Disney to the Red Carpet premiere of Big Hero 6. The premiere was held at the El Capitan Theatre on November 4th. We walked the red carpet and then viewed the 3D version of the movie. It was AMAZING…… you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll want to see it again!
The early scenes also gives us insight into Hiro and Tadashi’s relationship. You can tell that Hiro looks up to his big brother but he doesn’t fully understand what he’s going at his school or nerd school like he calls it. Tadashi took Hiro to his school lab to show him what he does at school. That’s where we first meet the whole gang. Each of them working on something out of this world in the field of science, oh and then there’s Fred. He’s the funny guy in the group. He isn’t a science wiz but he is funny, a comic book genius, playful and full of energy and life. He’s a very important part of this team. It’s at this same visit that Tadashi introduces Hiro to Baymax for the first time. While Baymax doesn’t seem as cool as the other projects being worked on in the lab Hiro was very proud of his brother. You like Baymax as soon as you see him on the screen. Although he’s a robot you can tell he really cares about his patient’s well being and providing top patient care.
Hiro’s short visit to his brother’s school leads him to enter a competition to earn a spot at the school. At first he didn’t know what to do for his presentation but with a little help from his brother and friends he comes up with the perfect project. Hiro’s project is a big hit and immediately there are people interested in the technology. Then tragedy strike and rocks Hiro’s world. The movie covers death and loss in a way that isn’t scary to kids. The movie does a great job showing that those affected are sad but they each have their own way of dealing with the loss. A stubbed toe brings Baymax back into the movie to aid Hiro and that’s when the whole movie just expands and grows. We see the relationship grow between Baymax and Hiro and how much it means to Baymax to help Hiro feel better.
Determined to find out what happened the night of the Science showcase, Hiro and his friends all come together to solve the mystery and save the day. I won’t post spoilers because I really want you to go see this movie and see how awesome it is on your own. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll want to see it again. It’s heartwarming, funny, adventure filled and it’s a movie the whole family will enjoy. Each one of the characters bring something different to the movie that makes it the perfect family movie and one that both boys and girls can enjoy. Let me introduce you to the whole gang.
Hiro – he’s the main character and it’s his determination to find the truth that leads him to the creation of the team. He’s very smart and inventive.
Baymax – created as a personal health care companion, is nurturing and kind, his main goal is to make Hiro feel better and once he realizes he’s making him happy he does all he can to continue to make him happy. Every time Baymax is on the screen you just want to smile and hug him.
Wassabi – he’s all about rules and structure. Even when they were being chased down by the villain he stopped at the traffic light so he wouldn’t break the law. He’s also kind of a chicken but when it counts he helps save the team.
Honey Lemon – is quirky and fun. She loves Science and she’s very maternal. She loving and caring and the member of the group that would make sure they all ate before fighting crime.
Fred – he’s the comic relief in the group. He’s the kid who won’t grow up, young and heart and ready for anything that comes their way. If you need a laugh Fred is most likely your guy.
Go Go – she’s my favorite character from the movie. She’s not only smart, she’s very cool under pressure. She’s the brave one on the team and it seems like nothing can scare her at all. I really love her character because she will be a great role model for girls, reminding them that they can be smart, pretty, brave and a leader.
Big Hero 6 opens today – November 7th everywhere in HD and 3D. Take the family this weekend.
