Postpartum Care Kit
As a member of the Smiley 360 Blogger Community, I was provided samples from Preparation H to review and share my thoughts. Any and all opinions are my own.
Preparing for a baby is time consuming and most times when we know someone who is expecting we always think about the baby. We buy gifts, send well wishes but often we forget about mom. Looking back on all my pregnancies I think that I never prepared for my postpartum recovery. No one ever tells you anything about postpartum recovery. Well unless you get into breastfeeding. I wanted to share about the Preparations H Medicated Wipes for Women that I received from Smiley 360 and I figured that the perfect way to share is by sharing why you need it for a postpartum care kit.
If you’ve had a vaginal delivery before you may or may not have ended up with hemorrhoids. It’s a natural part of the process. Pushing to deliver your baby could also lead to a hemorrhoid. Did you know that pregnancy can cause hemorrhoids in one out of three women. The makers of Preparation H created their medicated wipes especially for women. It is infused with chamomile, aloe and refreshing cucumber, plus a soothing medication that cools on contact. The wipes are flushable and comes in two count sizes. You can purchase the ten count individual packs or the forty-eight count package. This is the first product that must be included in a postpartum care kit.
The Preparation H Medicated Wipes for Women is the perfect addition to any postpartum care kit. If you have any hemorrhoids these can be use to help provide some relief. The wipes can be used to help with keeping the area clean up to six times a day. It can also be used as a moist compress to provide some additional relief. If you plan to use as a compress simply fold to desired size and place in contact with the irritated area. Leave in place for up to 15 minutes. For best results I would also recommend using with the Preparation H Creme. The two convenient packages make it possible to keep on at home in the bathroom and you can take it with you when you are traveling. Even if you didn’t have a vaginal delivery, but suffered with constipation during or after your pregnancy this product will help provide some level of relief. Plus you can save on your purchase by grabbing a $1.50 off coupon.
Another must have in a postpartum care kit is Overnight Pads with Wings. The bigger the pad the better. It won’t go to waste at all. Overnight Pads are best for postpartum because it provides more protection and they are usually longer than regular pads. Its up to you to choose what brand you choose and if you choose slim or regular. If you don’t have a favorite brand or what to try different brands check online for samples from companies. Kotex, Poise and Always sometimes offer free samples on their websites.
Other items included in my postpartum care kit is Stool Softener. Sometimes after delivery women have difficulty with bowel movements. Having a stool softener in your kit prepares you just in case this happens. I also included some Extra Strength pain killers for cramping after delivery. You can choose your favorite brand and what works best for you. I also included Arnicare Gel as a pain relief choice because it works great for back pain and cramping. You could also include pain wraps to help with back pain as well.
I also had to include my Mama Mio tummy rub because it helps with stretch marks. Perfect for postpartum care. Mama Mio also has a cream to help with your breast and tired legs. I highly suggest all their products because they work great. I would also put in your favorite candy bar and a nice smelling candle for relaxing when you do get time relax a little.
Oh and you can’t forget the pouch or bag to put all the items for your care kit. I used a pouch I received from Preparation H in my photos but it’s really up to you what you use to put your items in. There’s lots of things you can add to your postpartum care kit. This is my guide and a starter of what to include.
If you were making a Postpartum Care Kit for yourself or someone else what would you include?
