Do you know why do we call it Christmas? You probably know the whole story of the holiday but what about the name or other holidays around that time of year? Thanks to Flyby Promotions I was provided a copy of Why Do We Call It Christmas for review. Any opinions expressed are my own.
The holidays are fast approaching and we are slowly starting to get into our holiday movies line up. We watch some movies every year and some we add just for a specific time. My kids love Yes Virginia There’s A Santa Claus, they watch it numerous times a year. This year I plan to add the Why Do We Call It Christmas DVD to their line up. I love that it’s an informative dvd that’s not only entertaining but fun. This would be a great resource for homeschoolers who are looking for ways to incorporate the holidays into their lesson plans. Not only does the DVD cover Christmas it also covers lots of other holidays around that time of year. Now the kids can learn about Hanukkah, this is something I couldn’t teach them about because I don’t know much about the holiday at all. So the next time someone asks ‘Do you know the reason for the season? ‘ you have lots of answers to share with them. My kids loved this movie. They thought it was cute. They especially enjoyed the singing and the puppets. Since watching it the first time they’ve asked to see it again. It’s a hit in our house and it’s sure to be one in yours as well.
