Lately I’ve been looking at a lot of home buying television shows, one of my favorites is called Big Sky Living and I love it because of all the beautiful mountain views. Two Scots Abroad has a great post about must see locations in the mountain states and I thought it would be great to share with my readers. I hope you enjoy.

Hiking or biking in the summer, skiing or boarding in the winter – America’s mountain states have endless year-round attractions to offer.
Boulder, Co
Colorado is renowned for having some of the best powder in America, so it’s easy to see why many winter sport fans flock to hotels in Boulder. Because of the city’s popularity, accommodations can get pretty pricey, so book fast. With the snow at its peak in the winter months, Boulder becomes a real hotspot for skiers and snowboarders between January and February.
Fort Collins, Co
Colorado isn’t just about snow sports! Fort Collins, Colorado, must be doing something right, since it was named by Money magazine as the best place to live in America. And this idyllic city has not gone unnoticed by the Walt Disney folks, who use it as one of the models for Disney’s Main Street America. There’s also a great music scene, mainly encouraged by the young student population of Colorado State University. And what else do students do well? Drink! Visitors can enjoy many of Fort Collin’s breweries or attend The Colorado Brewer’s Festival in June. There are many Fort Collins hotels priced between $80 and $150 per night, such as the two star Comfort Suites.
Yuma, AZ
The beauty of visiting Yuma, Arizona, is down to its year-round warm climate, which means you can stay in a budget-friendly Yuma hotel, and avoid the crowds of high season, while escaping the cold of your home town. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the Lakes of Martinez and Mittry, and the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. History lovers will be drawn to the Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park and the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, and can enjoy a stay at the reliable Hilton Garden Inn Yuma Pivot Point.
Page, AZ
Another popular destination in Arizona is Page, a city that sits on top of Manson Mesa, home to the Antelope Canyon. Many hikers visit Page to take in the outstanding views, as well as stretch their legs. Lush Lake Powell is also a very scenic stop for those who like nature and taking photographs. Many of Page’s visitors use it as a gateway to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Lake Powell. Many filmmakers have used Page as a backdrop for such works as Planet of the Apes and Into the Wild. For a cheap and cheerful stay, check out the hotels in Page, Arizona.
Stateline, NV
Visitors to hotels in Stateline, Nevada, will find that they are not only family friendly but have options that are kind to your wallet. Skiers and boarders may want to consider The Ridge Tahoe for accommodations, as it offers Skier Express Lift passes – free of charge! The resort also has direct access to the Heavenly Stagecoach Lift. Not skiing? No stress; see the sights of Nevada’s Carson City, or take a dip in the swimming pool. Nature lovers will be happy to hear that nearly 60 percent of the open space is available to the public in Stateline.
Come winter, summer, rain, or shine, America’s mountainous States have something for everyone!
