Our Princess Kay is a thumb sucker. She’s five and in kindergarten and I hoped she would stop on her own but she hasn’t. None of the ideas people gave us worked and we are really trying to get her to stop sooner than later. That’s when I came across an item that I hope does the trick. Its called Thumbuddy to Love. She has a Ballerina Sue that she puts on her thumb and the goal is that since her finger is covered she won’t be able to suck her finger. We’ve had it since Saturday (12/8) and so far its been interesting. My daughter has done everything in her power to find a way for me to take the Thumbuddy off her finger. She gives me the saddest look in the world and it just makes me feel so horrible but I know that I must persist in getting her to stop. I will say that so far its been working. I have to find a way to keep her finger covered when she is at school. We are working on her keeping it on all through the night since she is such a bad sleeper. I will continue to blog about her journey of trying to stop thumb sucking.
Keep checking back for updates on Kennedi’s journey and later for my full review of the Thumbuddy. Please leave some comments to help me stay the course. I don’t want to break down and stop so your comments along the way encouraging me to keep going can help.
