Tips for Planning a Spiderman Themed Party for Preteens

My oldest son just turned eleven but he’s still such a kid at heart. He’s never really gotten into video games or sports really but he loves his toys. He current obsession revolves around Spiderman and some of the Marvel superheroes. I knew with his upcoming birthday he would want anything Spiderman and Marvel so when we decided to have a small kickback for him and a few friends I knew we had to incorporate his love of Spiderman into the party.

We decided to have the party catered and we choose Qdoba Catering, it was stress free and made the event so much fun for my son and his friends. Since we weren’t sure if his friends were into Spiderman and much and he’s getting older we added in the theme in subtle ways.

Party Supplies

Of course the best way to show off any party theme is by picking party supplies that match the theme. We didn’t have many things with Spiderman on them but we did stick to a red and blue theme with some small elements of black and yellow.

Aside from the catering items we received with our order everything was we picked helped carry out the theme of the event.

Games

Since the boys are a little older we opted for them to play video games instead of party games you usually play at parties for younger kids. It was easy to add in Spiderman and Marvel games from my son’s collection into the titles he pulled for them to all enjoy.

The video games was fun for the boys and gave them a chance to play and have fun. They all took turns playing different games and even pulled out some of my son’s action figures to join in the fun.

Movies

Movies were the perfect way to help pass the time at the kickback with the boys. They watched a few movies while eating food and enjoying snacks. My son picked his favorite Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse of course and a some Marvel movies where Spiderman makes an appearance like Captain America: Civil War.

Party Favors

With older kids party favors and usually not on the list, but I decided to send the boys home with a few treats and a very cool party favor they can use over and over again. Thanks to Zak we received these cool Spiderman Water Bottles. They can use them to refill with water when on the go all summer and it fit our theme perfectly.

To fill the bottles I removed the straws and put them back in the water bottle. I filled it with my son’s favorite candies around the straw and replace the top when it was filled. At the end of the party each boy took home their new water bottle filled with some treats and they can use it to stay hydrated all summer long. It’s a win-win in my book.
