Temporary Hair Color Chalk Review
When I was in college I had Auburn Hair. I loved the color on me. It made me feel cute but it was horrible on my hair. I was having major issues with breakage and eventually I grew out the color and cut my hair. Now that my hair is in a transition stage to natural hair I am thinking about color again. Then my seven year old daughter asked about hair chalk and I figured we could give it a try. We received a sample of Wicked Crown Temporary Hair Color from Lashem and Brand Backer for review, any opinions expressed are my own.
When the hair chalk arrived my daughter was excited almost immediately. I think she knew we would be trying it with her hair. She couldn’t wait to give it a try. This set has twelve different colors to try. Some were very bright and vibrant like the hot pink, orange and yellow and others were a little more neutral like the black and brown chalk. When I gave my daughter the option to try the colors she of course went with hot pink and she also asked about purple. Since it was our first time using the hair chalk I did a sample test on her hair.
Using the hair chalk was very easy, I would recommend using a glove when applying it to the hair because it does come off on the fingers and hands when applying. I would also do a strand test to see how bright or dull the color appears on your hair. The two I tried on my daughter’s hair worked out great for her. The pink I had to re-apply a few times to make sure all the hair was colored on both sides but it turned out great. I was able to color about a quarter of her hair with one stick of chalk. The amount you can color would vary based on hair thickness and length. The same applies for how bright the color is. You can also blow dry or flat iron your hair after applying the color to give it a bolder look. The color lasted about two weeks on her hair. That was about three hair washes. Overall it was a good product for us. We were able to use it and get great results and we would definitely use it again because it didn’t cause any damage to my daughter’s hair.
