Sunday Inspiration Week One: Faith & Trusting God
A while ago I was sent a copy of Joyce Meyer’s devotional Trusting God Day by Day to review, at the time it was well into the year and I pick it up a few times but put it back down again and today I decided to join another blogger and start up doing inspirational posts on Sundays. I was looking for a topic and hubby walked it and our conversation lead me to starting with Faith & Trusting God. A lot has been going on with our family and we’ve been going through but continue to have faith that it will all work out soon. Well at times it seems like those things just pile up and pile up and I can’t help but worry. When I went in to deliver our forth child in December 2013 we found out that I had pre-eclampsia which has lead me to continue to battle with controlling my blood pressure. It’s been such a struggle and with our added problems it’s been harder than I wanted it to be. This morning I told my husband I was going to start crying if we got more bad news and he said “Oh Baby – You’ve gotta have FAITH!” As soon as he said it I knew that’s what I was going to share about and how this devotional has been helping me when the day seem rough.
Today the scripture reads:
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we’ve done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2: 8-9
Meyer gave some powerful statements stating when we are confident in our faith we can make those statements knowing that we believe it in our hearts. I needed to be reminded today to not lose that confidence and to keep the faith and trust God. Here’s some of those statement.
- I don’t know what to do but God does
- I don’t understand what’s going on in my life, but God will make a way for me
- This trial I have doesn’t feel good; I don’t like it, but I believe God works all thing out for good to those who love Him are are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)
Having faith means always trusting in God’s love and looking beyond where you are to see the end result. Having faith means always being hopeful and refusing to accept defeat. Are you facing something difficult you don’t understand? Are you like me and sometimes lose focus? I encourage you to choose to have a positive attitude about your situation and trust God to work it out for the good even if you can’t see the light.
