Six Reasons We Loved Finding Dory in Dolby Cinema #shareAMC #DolbyCinema #FindingDory

Six Reasons We Loved Finding Dory in Dolby Cinema

Our Father’s Day weekend started off with a blast, we traveled down to Tysons Corner, VA to see Finding Dory in Dolby Cinema at AMC.  Thanks to Dolby Cinema I was able to take some of my family, and give away two family four pack of tickets to lucky winners to experience the movie in Dolby Cinema.  Once we arrived and settled into our seats I could already tell this experience was unlike any other movie going experience I’ve had in the past.

Now that we’ve seen the movie I honestly have to admit that Dolby Cinema at AMC is a total movie experience, that we enjoyed, and it made it much more memorable.

Reason #1: Reserved Seating on Tickets

The first thing I noticed was the reserved seating at the theater.  Our tickets included the row and seat numbers right on the ticket.  That eliminated the need to look for enough seats for our entire party.  Finding those seats were very easy as well since AMC had big bright lettering on the floor to direct you to your correct row.

Reason #2: Easy of Finding Reserved Seats

Once you’re on the right row it was super easy to find your seat.  Just look down at the front and find the number that matched with you ticket information.

Reason #3: Reclining and Specious Chairs

AMC Finding Dory (1)

These seats are so amazing.  I don’t care what movie was showing on the big screen, these would make the experience enjoyable.  I didn’t want to leave when the movie was over.  I loved the reclining feature on the seats that allows you to lounge back and really relax while enjoying the movie.  They were very spacious, so you don’t feel bunched up next to each other when watching the movie.

Reason #4: Picture Quality

AMC Finding Dory (2)

Of course I can’t take my phone out during the movie to take a photograph of the screen but I wanted to during the credits to show you the amazing picture quality.  I don’t think my phone did it any justice at all.  The realism in Dolby Cinema was amazing.  Which was very evident during the Piper short that appears before Finding Dory.  When the water washed on the shore I could have sworn it was real.  The images were crisp and very clear.

Reason #5: Sound

There’s no way for me to visualize sound for you but it played a major part in our movie going experience as well.  Without giving away too much, there wasn’t a sound bite I missed from the movie.  There’s a scene where Dory is worried and she’s thinking out loud, she’s sighing and you could hear it crystal clear.  I could hear them swimming through the waters, and even hear the sound of bubbles.  Just like the picture quality, it was very realistic and it added to the experience as well.

Reason #6: Action Seats

Another feature that’s hard to share visually but I also enjoyed was the added feature of vibrating seats to match the action of the movie.  Of course with Finding Dory there wasn’t much action in the movie but it was really cool when it did happen.  It made the kids giggle a bit.  I can’t imagine how fun that would be for a action movie like Captain America Civil War.

My family loved the movie.  We all fell in love with Hank.  Watching his relationship with Dory grow was amazing to watch on the screen, and we learned a few fun facts about octopuses as well.  Destiny and Bailey are also a funny pair to watch in this movie.  They both help each other overcome obstacles and help Dory in a big way in the movie.  And of course it was great to see Nemo and his father Marlin again, dealing with some of the same problems as in Finding Nemo but also watching them become a great teams.  We all gave it two thumbs up and the kids highly recommend it for all families.
