Simply Shepherd’s Pie

I love fall just because I love baking.  Don’t get me wrong I can bake all year round but its just something about the fall and winter that makes baking so much fun.  The smells and the oven warms up the house just right.  I was given the opportunity to work with one of my favorite brands again – Simply Potatoes, and I was super excited to see what I would whip up using their products this time.  So far I’ve made Au Gratin Potatoes and a Breakfast Bake that you must check out and give a try.  So I wondered what I could do this go round.  The hardest part was choosing what product to use.  The Simply Potatoes product line includes the new Steamables, Cut Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes and Side Dishes.

What I love the most about Simply products is that it makes cooking a bit easier by removing steps from recipes.  When I first made the Au Gratin potatoes it was because I loved them but couldn’t find a good product currently on the shelf that I loved.  Simply made it so easy to create with their fresh sliced potatoes.  I just added some ingredients and less than an hour later my family and I were enjoying the best Au Gratin potatoes ever.  This time I decided to make an easy Shepherd’s Pie.  I love this recipe but I just don’t like the idea of having to make mashed potatoes first and then meat portion of the dish.  Simply took a whole recipe out of the process making this a Simply Shepherd’s Pie.  It’s easy to make and it’s a dish your family will enjoy during the fall.  Here’s the recipe below:

I also had an extra package of shredded potatoes and decided to make a different play on steak and potatoes.  I just got some thinly sliced beef, sauteed it, then I cooked up the potatoes till they were a little brown and added it to the steak and served.  It was a easy fun dish.  Hubby loved it.
