Seven Reasons to Tune in for Season Six of Baby Daddy
If you’ve been watching the show, then you don’t need a reason to tune in at all, but if you’re looking for a fun show to watch this is one I recommend. It’s filled with lots of laughs, fun, and characters that are easy to love. Once we sat down with the cast for interviews you could tell they are passionate about the show. Here are seven reasons to tune in this season.
The 100th Episode
The show filmed it’s 100th episode this season, that’s a huge accomplishment and the cast was very excited about hitting that milestone.
Chelsea Kane: For anyone that’s been sticking with us these last one hundred episodes. I mean to find, I think a lot of storylines that were there from, you know, the pilot, are really wrapping up this season in such a beautiful way. So, I think the fans will enjoy it checking it out.
Winner of a People’s Choice Award
The cast was ecstatic to share with us details about their People’s Choice Award win. It was another huge moment for them because they felt it was an unexpected win. Fans, on the other hand, were happy to see the show finally get the credit it deserves.
Derek Theler: Hitting a hundred is just, it’s hard to come by these days, so that’s an amazing feeling for sure for all of us. But I think the People’s Choice Awards specifically was an amazing night. Like we got to be surrounded by all these extremely successful people in this business and people we look up to, we had to get to work the next day but we had like such a great time as a family.
Chelsea Kane: Never in a million years did I think we would be at a hundred episodes and that happened and the same with People’s Choice. We were kind of used to that well, it’s just an honor to be nominated. When they handed us the award it was like oh my god, we did it. So, yeah, it’s been a lot of things to celebrate this year.
Tahj Mowry: And to hear your fans say like you guys deserve this, you know, like finally or about time. You know what I mean like it’s like damn like these people really are rooting for this show.
Brad & Bonnie
If you’ve been following the past seasons, Bonnie and her one again off again lover Brad has a rocky relationship. Although they are married now Bonnie seems to have one foot in and one foot out. There’s a nice storyline for the pair this season.
Chelsea Kane: Brad goes to jail and I’m defending him. So, that’s also a big storyline for Riley this year, is, not only is she hormonal and trying to hide her pregnancy, which I also think is, you know, a hot button issue. She is worried that once her boss finds out that she is pregnant that she’s just gonna look like one giant case of maternity leave. So, she’s trying to hide her pregnancy and on top of that defend Mrs. Wheelers husband in court. So, she’s kind of an emotional train wreck for most of the season.
Tucker Dobbs Returns from L.A.
In the finale of Season 5 Tucker took off for a new job in L.A., in this season we learn that he’s back but we aren’t sure what happens to him while he’s out west. We still don’t know what happens but we do know something else.
Tahj Mowry: For Tucker, I guess, you know, a lot of people are always like when’s he gonna fall in love, you know, when is he gonna meet that girl and this season that might happen. So, that’s something cool. I think fans are really like that.
Riley Deals with Real Life Issues:
We all know hat Riley is pregnant this season and we get to see her tackle real-life issues that a lot of pregnant women deal with when they’re expecting.
Chelsea Kane: What I loved so much about some of my storylines this season, is Riley is dealing with the fact that she’s worried that she’s not gonna get a promotion and be treated differently because she is pregnant. And she is a lawyer and loves her job and is good at her job and there are kind of those conversations that are happening between her and Danny, you know, with her boss that she’s so worried that by being a working mom, that she’s just gonna screw it up. I mean, Danny is gonna be the best dad, his so prepared and reading all the books and so, Riley is really emotional about the fact that.
Danny Has Big Plans
Danny is ready to be a father, and he’s working hard to make sure Riley is happy during her pregnancy. He may not always get it right but he works hard to make sure she gets what she wants. He also wants to help Riley and Bonnie have a strong mother/daughter relationship, and he’s excited about how it happens this season.
Derek Theler: For my character, I was hoping that Danny would like tie the knot with Riley. So, that’s something that I’m hoping for in the future, yeah. Yeah, it’s a good one. And also, you know, I love the relationship with Bonnie and Riley. It’s that great mother-in-law, like she’s so hard on her. And Melissa and I have talked since season one, of really wanting to have that breakthrough, where she’s, the reason she’s so hard on her is because she really loves her. So, that was something that Melissa and I got to have this year.
We Meet the new Baby
We don’t have to wait forever to meet Danny and Riley’s baby. They made sure to include it in this season so it’s not drawn out and we don’t have a cliffhanger at the end of season six.
Chelsea Kane: Something that I definitely wanted this season, once we established that Riley was pregnant. I wanted to see it through and not leave it on a cliffhanger. So, you do get to meet our baby and yeah and that was a really emotional day on set.
I had the chance to ask Tahj about Tucker’s style. My husband is a big fan of his fashion so I had to make sure I got a question in about the fashion and wardrobe for the cast on set.
Tahj Mowry: I’ll say with Tucker, you know, each season it’s gotten a little, you know, I’ve had more and more input but it’s always been that kind of put together, not afraid to tuck his shirt in, which I don’t. It’s not my favorite thing. And it’s pretty funny, always, you know, Kat. All the props to Kat, she’s amazing and she makes it work and I get that all the time. So, I’m going to tell Kat next time I see her cause I know she’d love that. But if you came on set, you’d probably hear somebody come up to me a couple of times and tell me to tuck my shirt in. Cause I’m trying to get away with it, like maybe they won’t see me and I can like have it out in this scene, but they always see me.
We celebrated the pregnancy of Danny and Riley with a baby shower style luncheon. Tahj sat at our table and chatted with us about everything. He was so funny and down to earth. After lunch we participated a celebrity charades and Tahj was our team captain. Check him out in action.
Yes! we ended up winning the game thanks to Tahj and his quick thinking. It was definitely so much fun. Remember to tune for the series premiere of Baby Daddy on Monday, March 13 at 8:30pm ET/PT on Freeform.
