Being a stay at home mother is great but it also means our family has to survive on one income. My husband works hard to earn a pay check and it’s my job to learn way and tricks to stretch those dollars to make sure our family has all our needs and even some of our wants. It’s one of the reason’s I’ve started couponing and shopping based on sales. I’m the Savings Queen of Stephensville (our house). If I can’t save some money on something then I don’t want to buy it at all. It’s important to save on everything our family uses, that includes clothes, household items, travel and food. One way we save on food is by maximizing on supermarket sales, like the Buy 4, save $4 #BreakfastSavings promotion going on at Safeway and it’s affiliate stores.
To properly prepare for any grocery shopping trip I make sure I grab a sales circular and with Safeway I head online to my Just4U account. I love their Just4U savings because I get personalized deals just for me based on items I buy often and I also get to see club specials just for my store. I can also load digital manufacturer’s and store coupons on my card so I don’t have to worry about forgetting them during the check out process. Once I’ve seen all the sales and match coupons with the items I plan to pick up for my family I head to the store ready to shop. Before you go shopping make sure you clip any coupons you have and store them in a place you will remember when checking out. Also you can read my article about Money Saving Apps to save you before and after you go shopping.
This trip we focused on ways to save on breakfast with Safeway. Their current #BreakfastSavings sale made it so easy to get everything we needed for ourselves and we were also able to grab my mom some of her favorite coffee and creamer for a great price. Since my husband has a long commute for work and he usually leaves the house at 5:30 AM, my focus is always finding quick, easy to eat, somewhat healthy and filling breakfast ideas for him since he’s eating in the car. That’s why I was so excited to grab items he likes that will give him just the right amount of energy for starting his very long days.
Since the goal for us is always about saving money it feels so good going to the store and seeing the savings applied to my order and when I finished checking out I can see that we saved 48% on our bill by shopping the sale and also using a few coupons. You can see more about my shopping tips to Safeway and see some of the great deals I found in store by visiting my Google+ #BreakfastSavings album.
When we have early mornings the kids just grab a quick breakfast of cereal and apple juice to give them some energy to get their days started.
This is my breakfast of choice while I am blogging today. My tummy is already thanking me for the breakfast biscuits. Just the right amount of energy to keep me going until lunch. Now I should be able to do better about skipping breakfast when I am busy. You can also see how other moms are saving on breakfast and ways they feed their families breakfast by visiting the site Rise and Shine with Savings. You can also help share breakfast with other children. All it takes is a quick tweet, share, pin or watch a video and you can help with reaching the goal. So please take a few moments and click the banner below and share a breakfast today.
