I’ve been blogging on and off for a few years now but last September I started to take it much more serious and I try to post at least three times a week. Then I jumped into group giveaways for exposure and soon reviews as well. Before you knew it I was blogging much more that I could ever imagine. I first started to jot things down on notes and pieces of paper that was on the computer desk. Next I tried an online excel form. Right around Christmas my system just wasn’t working for me. There was so much and I wasn’t doing a good job to keep up. The pieces of papers would get misplaced. I had the opportunity to review an online printable blogging planner and I jumped at the chance to get some more organization for my blog.
The planner I choose was the 2013 blog planner from Confessions of a Homeschooler. I picked this planner for one main reason. Instead of the blocks you see on most planners this one had lines. I liked the linear style because I could write out information much more clearly than in a boxed planner. My printer is automatically set to black and white, so when I printed mines it was in black and white and instead of wasting paper and ink to print again I just kept it but it’s a very pretty planner in color and you can see it on Confessions of a Homeschooler’s blog.
I started using it right away to write down the posts I wanted to have done and certain dates. I also write down the dates I receive a product in the mail and then choose a date 30 days in advance as my point to have the review done before then. The linear planner also has small boxes to check if it’s a review, giveaway and if it’s a giveaway you can check off when you pick the winner. There are also boxes to check for your social media sharing. So you can see when you shared on FB, Twitter, Pinterest and Google +. Another great feature is the second page which features a giveaway/review details so you can track the due date of your posts, the vendor, the product and the price. There’s also a section for blog ideas. I really liked this because it seems I always get idea that I forget to write down and then I forget them.
Overall I really liked using this planner. It’s much better than my old system and it’s helped me keep on track with my blogging tasks. I also liked that it wasn’t filled with a bunch of useless pages that I would never use and since it’s an online printable offered for free, it’s a definite win-win for me. I recommend you check it out and print it out if you’re in need of a planner and need to get some organization to your blog.
