The Police Simulator: Patrol Officers: Nintendo Switch™ Edition is one of our first posts for the Holiday Gift Guide 2024. My son and I had the opportunity to test the game before it hit the market and share some of our thoughts with the developers. We were both excited for the chance to test the game but it was not fun having to keep it a secret until the release date of October 29th. The only thing we could share was the trailer video we did back in early October.
What We Enjoyed About The Game
The plot was fascinating to us. Being able to move around, the ability to key in on clues, and gather evidence is a dope way to build skills for those who play the game. I played on my son’s Nintendo Switch and I was impressed with the graphics of the game. The attention to detail was amazing, I liked the details on the subway, and the hotdog vendors gave a strong NYC vibe.
Another highly positive thing for me was the ability to be promoted. The ability to work your way up to a promotion, change your shift times, and change responsibilities, move around to new districts is cool. Keeps the game fresh and gives new challenges to strive for within the game.
What We Did Not Enjoy About The Game
Of course with anything, there are things we didn’t like about the game, most will be personal and probably not affect any players at all, but some now that the game is out over time guides will pop up all over and help make it easier to overcome.
I feel like there should be some kind of map for navigation. Once my shift ended, I tried to return to headquarters and I could not find it. I went over my shift time significantly because I could not find my way back, if there was a map it could have been easily located. When I was playing I had a hard time with walking/running toggle control. I felt like the game only had one speed, I had to run my entire shift. Even though it is a game I felt silly running through the city streets. Even when I slowed down, I still could not walk. Also, I found it difficult to get over barriers in games, in games like GTA you can hop over them.
Again these are issues I could have as an individual gamer and you may not have at all, it could also be when we played the game and things could be much more different now that the game has officially hit the market. Despite the few things we did not enjoy we still would recommend it and added it to our Holiday Gift Guide 2024.

About Police Simulator: Patrol Officers
Step into the Role of a Police Officer
In the Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Nintendo Switch™ Edition, players can choose from eight different characters and start their career patrolling the open-world streets of Brighton. The challenges of their daily routines evolve as officers progress—from issuing parking tickets and controlling traffic to chasing down criminals, investigating major crimes, and solving complex crime cases. As players advance in their careers, they will unlock new vehicles, districts, and interactions, keeping every shift fresh and engaging. The game’s mechanics also monitor player behavior, rewarding professional conduct and penalizing mistakes, with severe missteps even leading to dismissal.
The Nintendo Switch™ Edition offers both solo gameplay and online co-op. Two players can team up for patrols together, which enhances the experience and adds the task of coordinating strategic teamwork to their shifts.
Optimized for Handheld Play
After a successful release on PC and other consoles in November 2022, Police Simulator: Patrol Officers has been optimized for the Nintendo Switch™, offering engaging gameplay in both docked and handheld modes. The Nintendo Switch™ Edition includes all the core content from the PC and console versions, with additional support for portable play.
Players can also purchase the Garage Bundle, which introduces six additional vehicle DLCs. This bundle is available separately in the Nintendo eShop or as part of the Police Simulator: Patrol Officers Nintendo Switch™ Extended Edition.
