Plan Your Trip to the Sweetest Place on Earth
My family and I have become some of biggest fans of Hershey this past year. I’d like to think we could be ambassadors of the area. We love it so much, last year we made the trip to Hershey at least eight times last year. I can’t wait to head back to Hershey this year for more family fun, and if you are planning a trip to the area here’s some of the activities slated to take place in Hershey this year.
2016 brings more thrills and chills to Hershey with the addition of Hersheys Water Works at Hershey Lodge, an innovative indoor pool complex that will include two indoor pools, a fitness center, game room, food and beverage offerings including a full bar and wait staff, event space, whirlpool, and bathrooms. Hersheys Water Works at Hershey Lodge will showcase the famous Hersheys Product Characters and incorporate elements similar to The Boardwalk at Hersheypark. The complex is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend.
The stars are coming out to shine in Hershey this summer! Scheduled are:
- Luke Bryan on June 4 at Hersheypark Stadium
- Beyoncé on June 12 at Hersheypark Stadium
- Janet Jackson on June 14 at Giant Center
- Twenty One Pilots on June 19 at Hersheypark Stadium
- Dixie Chicks on June 24 at Hersheypark Stadium
- 5 Seconds of Summer on July 2 at Hersheypark Stadium
- Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas on July 16 at Hersheypark Stadium
There’s a lot of talented people on this list but I know my husband would love to catch that Janet Jackson concert. He’s been a fan of hers since he was a teenage. I’ll have to look into that show for sure. To learn more and to purchase tickets visit the Hershey Entertainment website.
Summer of 2016 will see the addition of the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory which will become the Hershey Gardens new main entrance. The conservatory will be open year-round, with a butterfly atrium that will feature 500 600 butterflies representing 200 300 species in a recreated tropical climate. The atrium will be one of 25 year-round tropical atriums in the U.S. The new conservatory will be ideal for wedding receptions, flower shows and special events.
The fun continues at Hersheypark, a 110- acre theme park boasting more than 70 rides and attractions celebrating its 109th season, where thrill seekers can enjoy exhilarating rides on 13 roller coasters, including Laff Trakk, the first indoor, spinning glow coaster in the country, which debuted at the Park for the 2015 season.
In addition, more than 20 rides are designed for younger guests and daily live entertainment is offered throughout the season. Admission to ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park, an 11-acre walk through zoo that is home to more than 200 animals from 75 species, also is included in the Parks one-price admission.
A variety of ticket options, including Hersheypark 2016 Season Passes with payment plans, provide discounts on admission.
The Official Resorts of Hersheypark, The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge and Hersheypark Camping Resort, all offer exclusive amenities through the Hershey Resorts Advantage, which includes the best price on Hersheypark tickets, complimentary shuttle service and early admission to the Park, Hersheys Product Character appearances, SMores roasting pits, and more. Any of the properties are a perfect home-away-from-home during a multi-day stay.
Also new this summer at Hersheys Chocolate World, adjacent to Hersheypark, is a ground-breaking renovation of the iconic Chocolate Making Tour ride. Updates to the worlds most visited factory tour will give families a look into the magical and modern world of chocolate making by bringing the process to life through high-tech innovations that will excite the senses for a fun and educational experience.
