Oster Pro 1200 Food Processor is a Must Have for the Holidays

The holidays are right around the corner and my family and I have already started making plans.  We have a list of dishes we plan to make for our meals, and divide them up among us all.  One of my sisters loves making the drinks for adults so I figured I would tackle a drink for all the kids in our family.

I’ve used Oster products before in the past, I’ve grown up watching my mother and grandmother both use their products.  It’s a brand that I trust and know makes quality products.  One thing I like most about the brand is the price of their products.  Kitchen appliances can end up costing a pretty penny, especially a good blender so I couldn’t wait to test this and see how it compared with my current high-priced blender.

Getting started with the blender/food processor was so easy.  I took it out the box and washed with warm soapy water before using for the first time.

This product ncludes an Extra Large 8-cup BPA-free TRITAN™ Jar that’s dishwasher safe and impact and temperature resistant and an Extra Large capacity 5-cup Food Processing Bowl, stainless steel slicing disk and chopping blade.  My picture doesn’t really show the marking on the jar but they are clear and easy to read. They have them in both cups and ounces for easy measuring.  The jar is super easy to clean as well.

One of my favorite features of this food processor is the removable bottom.  I can unscrew it and clean any food particles from the blade and the bottom of the jar.  I don’t even think my expensive brand blender has that feature.

The top cover has an easy twist open top so you can drop in fruits and veggies into your smoothies or other food items in the jar.  It’s a very nice feature and having the ability to lock it in place is a bonus.

The preprogrammed buttons on the front of the unit makes it easy to prepare your food and drinks.  I have used the smoothie bottom a few times already because it’s already programmed to do all the work.  I just push the power button and then the smoother button on the unit.

I made a delicious pineapple Mango Smoothie first for my family.  My daughter and husband loved it so much.  It was super easy to make.  All you need is:

• 2 Cups Pineapple Chunks (fresh or canned)
• 1 Cup Frozen Mango Chunks
• 8oz Plain Yogurt
• 1 2/3 Cups Milk
• Ice (optional – depending on how you thick you want the smoothie)
• Honey (optional – for sweetening your smoothie)

You can also add vitamins, flax seeds or more to your smoothies directly based on your preference.
