The Nut Job Opens In Theaters 1/17
The Nut Job is opening in theaters on Friday, January 17th, that’s in three days and the excitement around the movie have been building for weeks. My kids have already asked to go see it in the movies. That’s big because there are very few movies they request to go see. Every time the commercial comes on television they ask to go see it when it comes out. I had the unique opportunity to attend a Mommy Blogger Virtual Hangout with Will Arnett and Katherine Heigl, we got to ask them questions about the film. Here’s some of the questions and answers from that hangout:
Laura Clark – editor of Mom.me and blogger at L.A. Story is the moderator and she was the one asking the questions. I will refer to her as L.C.
L.C.: Have you guys done your voices for your kids? Do they know you do voices?
Will Arnett: Yeah, sort of – they’ve heard me talk so you know I think they know. They know the word No! They hear me say it all the time. They are excited for it, anytime they see the commercial for it they are like ‘The Nut Job’.
L.C.: Question directed to Katherine – This is your first animated movie, what drew you to the project?
Katherine Heigl: I just wanted to be a part of something that I could share with my kids. We’re big animated movie watchers, we probably que up something every night to watch with the kids.
L.C.: Are there any characters you relate to?
Katherine Heigl: Precious (the dog)
L.C. What taglines should we expect to hear our kids pick up from the movie?
Katherine Heigl: Probably, No Surly, No!
Will Arnett: We do it, but we do it my way. I can see my kids using that against me soon. (laughs)
L.C.: Do you record as a group or alone?
Katherine Heigl: Alone, it’s weird because you are doing all the actions and gestures and no one sees that stuff.
L.C.: Did your kids impact your decision to take the role?
Both: Yes
L.C.: Have either of you had any crazy encounters with squirrels?
Katherine Heigl: Yes, one ran over my foot before.
Will Arnett: Yes I had a squirrel that lived in my backyard I named it Pete, but he would get bold at times. I would be outside and he would come sit and give me a look.
