My Big Hero 6 Red Carpet Experience
I was invited on an all expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to attend a press trip with Disney and ABC TV. Any opinions expressed are my own.
When I first read my email invite to LA for the Big Hero 6 Event and the ABC TV Event one of the most exciting things on the schedule for me was getting to walk the red carpet for the premiere of Big Hero 6 on November 4th. The premiere was held at the El Capitan Theatre. We attending a pre-party sponsored by Disney In Home Entertainment (more to come later) and then took the short walk from the Roosevelt Hotel over to where the premiere was being held. Since this was my first red carpet I had asked other bloggers for tips to help me enjoy the night and get the most out of the entire experience. Here’s some of the tips that was shared with me from bloggers that have walked the red carpet in the past.
The first and most important tip is making sure you have a picture buddy. I teamed up with Becca from My Crazy Good Life. Although I’d never met her in person we instantly connected online and even more in person. She was the perfect choice for picture buddy. Having a picture buddy to take all your photos and you help them take theirs makes the walk down the red carpet less stressful and more fun. Another tip was to make sure move quickly because we would be rushed into the movie theatre for the start of the movie, however we didn’t have that experience at all. We got to take our time for this movie, which was perfect for me and Becca because it was our first time. We had the chance to take the pictures we wanted and look people watch as well.
People watching is a huge part of walking the red carpet, for us, for fans and even for celebrities. While we were on our way into the movie we spotted three of the kids from the cast of Blackish. They had recognized us because we interviewed them the day before so they came over and chatted and snapped a quick photo with us as well. I can’t wait to share with you all things #Blackish next week. There were lots of people to see on the red carpet and while at the movie. The cast of Big Hero 6 took to the red carpet to take photos and show their silly sides before the movie.
Two tips I would include from my experience is to make sure your shoes is comfortable. I had on heels and I didn’t spend as much time on the red carpet. Comfortable shoes are a must for the red carpet. Another tip I would also include is waiting after the movie for a chance to see some celebrities. While waiting for our buses to the after party we saw a few celebrities exiting the theatre and some even stopped and signed autographs for fans and took pictures with them. After the movie we went to the after party. There was even more activities for people to enjoy and have fun.
I really enjoyed my night. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before in my life. Walking the red carpet was so much fun, I took lots of photos, and even saw a few celebrities. The movie was amazing so be sure to check out Big Hero 6, it’s opens in theaters tomorrow – November 7th everywhere. You can even purchase tickets online.
