Monster High 13 Wishes Video Game Review
Disclosure: I was provided a copy of this game for review and one for a giveaway. Any and all opinions are my own and have not been influenced.
My six year old daughter recently got into Monster High because of her older cousin. I like how original the dolls are and watched clips a few times so I was fine with her watching it. She got the 13 Wishes movie as a Christmas gift last year and I can honestly say I’ve seen it at least a hundred times since then. She plays it over and over again. She does that with all the movies and shows she likes, so when I saw that Little Orbit created a 13 Wishes video game I knew I wanted to get it for her to give it a try.
We got the Wii version of the game and I gave it to her at our family love dinner. He was so excited when she opened the bag and found the game. She was jumping and excited. She wanted to play it right away but I had her wait a few days before getting into the game for the first time. We are both competitive people and honestly the first couple of minutes trying to figure out the game was so frustrating. She has no patience. LOL. She gets it from my hubby. I encouraged her to just relax and we both started trying to figure out the mystery together. Two hours later we were talking strategy and have loads of fun. It’s definitely a game she couldn’t play on her own at six but with my help we figured it out fast.
The first mission was a challenge for us as we slowly grasp the hang of the game. She actually got past the levels before I could. It’s a bit hard on the Wii to use the small sensor bar to play the game. I think it would probably be a bit easier on the Nintendo DS or 3DS.
The game had amazing graphics. It was like watching the movie all over again. I was amazed at how great the graphics were. They were all clear and bold. Lots of color and clarity. We started with Frankie Stein and we had to follow the clues we got from Gigi to unlock other characters in the game. Once you unlock a character you can change and play with that new character or continue playing with your old character.
We’ve been enjoying the game a lot and it’s been so much fun for my daughter. Although it was a little rough for her starting off I think the game would be a great gift for girls about seven and older. You could also play it with your daughter as well if she’s younger and soon she’ll get the hang of it and play it all on her own. It’s a lot of fun and there’s lots of mystery to be solved so you will be playing the game for a while. Even if you’ve finished a level you can go back and play and explore more for coins and building skills.
I’d like to share some of the official information about the game with you starting with the trailer for the game.
