MISSION Athletecare’s RadiantActive Review – Holiday Gift Guide Feature
I have been an athlete my whole life, started at age 7 playing soccer and went all the way to playing 3 years of college football at my alma mater Langston University. The one thing I have always realized about sports is that the technology evolves just like the players. When I was a kid (1990) Reebok’s Pump basketball shoe was the state of art shoe technology. A shoe that pushed air into the sneaker’s tongue to create a better secure fit was unheard of, Reebok laughed all the way to the bank with this revolutionary now iconic shoe.
Now fast forward 26 years later and many great athletic technologies have emerged since then. You have Nike’s Air Max bubble, Adidas Adizero lightweight performance shoe, and Under Armour’s performance workout gear. The advances in performance athletic clothing is amazing, synthetic fibers that stretch, push sweat away from the body etc., are much better those tight fighting thermal shirts and track tights I wore my senior year at Tulsa Central High School during our playoff run in November.
So I was more than happy to find that Mission Active reached out to my wife to request to be apart of her annual Holiday Gift Guide. Mission Active is a next generation athletic performance apparel company that is making great strides in the advancement of sport training clothing.
I was sent the Radiant Active winter line that is designed to retain and remove sweat for the body and keep the body warm in cold temperatures.
As someone who is a gym rat, I work out 5 to 6 days a week for 30 minutes to two hours a day, I go through a lot of work out gear. I have it all, Adidas, Nike, Under Armour, New Balance, etc, I am not picky at all. However I notice differences om the Mission Active apparel.
The fit is outstanding as a bigger guy ( 5’11 305 lbs) I always have issue with base layer tights and shirts fitting properly. Too tight around the thigh and with the shirt the neck gets stretched because my shoulders are broad. With the Radiant Active apparel I noticed that it did not shift or move when I ran or lifted. It also worked as advertised by pulling sweat from my body and keeping me warm.
Also with the base layer shirt and tights I was sent the light and midweight performance gloves and beanie. I prefer the midweight glove because it has wrist straps and I like those when I bench press to give my arms added support. Overall the Mission Active gear is excellent as a matter of fact I don’t really wear my other athletic performance gear anymore, Mission active has become my favorite.
