Meet The New Villain Kids of Descendants 2
Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at key scenes from the new Descendants 2 movie. The cast recently took to social media to announce an unprecedented programming event. The Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Descendants 2‘ will have a simultaneous premiere on five television networks within the Disney|ABC Television Group, Friday, July 21 (8:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney Channel, ABC, Disney XD, Freeform and Lifetime, Plus Each Network’s Branded Digital Platform.
About Descendants 2:
In “Descendants 2,” the story deepens as the Villain Kids (AKA “VKs”) – Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay – continue to try to find their place in idyllic Auradon. When the pressure to be royal becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.

Tune in tonight for the Radio Disney Music Awards where the “Descendants 2” stars Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson and Booboo Stewart will make a special appearance to bring fans the exclusive world premiere of the “Ways to Be Wicked” music video featuring never-before-seen “Descendants 2” footage. The award show will be telecast SUNDAY, APRIL 30 (7:00 – 9:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney Channel.
Speaking of being wicked, I can’t wait for you guys to meet the new villain kids debuting in Descendants 2. We had the opportunity to see some scenes features the new cast members and loved them. They all bring a whole new dimension to the VKs.
Meet the Rebels – Newest Villain Kids

China Anne McClain stars as the cunning and confident Uma, daughter of Ursula from “The Little Mermaid,” in the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants 2.” Mal’s archenemy and the leader of a motley crew of pirates, Uma has used Mal’s absence on the Isle of the Lost to rise to power as the self-proclaimed queen of the Isle.
Move over Jack Sparrow, Harry Hook is coming to steal hearts. I can’t wait for you to see Thomas Doherty (“The Lodge”) as Harry, son of Captain Hook. Doherty does an amazing job with the character. Harry Hook is Uma’s right hand, and he has her back through thick and thin. During our screening of the few scenes we saw, everyone fell in love with this rebel and new villain kid.
Beauty and the Beast fans will love Dylan Playfair (“Some Assembly Required”) as Gil, son of Gaston. He also adds dimension to Uma’s gang of rebels.
This Monday on DWTS, the stars of Descendants 2 will perform a medley featuring “Rotten to the Core” from the first movie and the latest high-energy pop-rock anthem, “Ways to Be Wicked” from their upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie.
Descendants 2 premieres JULY 21 on Disney Channel, ABC, Freeform, Disney XD and Lifetime.
