Last night I made a yummy lasagna for dinner. I was super excited about making it because I found some ground pork when I was doing our weekly grocery shopping. So I just cooked up the ground pork and some 80/20 ground pork and then mixed in the sauce. I used some Ragu Meat Sauce just some basic and easy. I did add some McCormick parsley flakes, McCormick rubbed sage and some McCormick Italian rosemary seasoning. This was my base layer. I always layer noodles on the bottom and then I put my tomato sauce ground meat on the noodles. My hubby loves cheese so I added a bit of cheese on top of that layer.

I wanted to get a few veggies in the mix as well so I just heated up some smoked sausage and spinach and added it on my next layer. I placed my Ricotta cheese on top of the spinach and sausage and then added a layer of noddles on top of the Ricotta.

The final layer I added two different kinds of cheeses on top to finish off the lasagna.

The final product came out the over looks good and greasy and it tasted great.

Final product
This is a great dish to make for a big family and I think you can get at least 8 good servings out of this. Here’s a great price breakdown.
1.5 pounds of ground pork – $2.34
1 pound of ground beef – $2.48
1 box of lasagna noodles – $1.49
1 medium size tub of Ricotta cheese – $0.99 on sale with a coupon
2 packs of shredded cheese – $1.98 ($0.99 on sale)
1 pack of smoked sausage – $1.99
2 cups of spinach – (I got the package on sale for $0.99)
Total cost I spent was – $12. 26
So my cost per serving at 8 people is just $1.53 per serving. That’s great and it could be even cheaper if you adjust the ingredients used. That’s a cheap eat.
I hope you give this meat lovers lasagna a try.
