On Location with American Housewife
Last week I shared with you about my time on set of The Middle. While in LA last month we also had the opportunity to go on location of American Housewife. Our original plan changed and we ended up at a church with the rest of the cast and crew. American Housewife is apart of the Tuesday comedies line up on ABC. The show airs Tuesdays at 8:30/7:30c on ABC.
This was my first time visiting a set on location. For this episode of American Housewife we were at a church in Burbank watching the cast and crew film their Christmas episode. It was so much fun seeing them work, setting up the cameras and shooting the episode.
We had the opportunity to sneak onto the set and get a behind the scenes peek while the cast waited to shoot the scene. We even got to hang back and watch them film once scene from the episode.
If you ever find yourself in Burbank be sure to look for First Christian Church, snap a photo and share that you visited a spot where American Housewife was filmed.
I was super excited about seeing the set chairs around the set. This area is where the director and other crew sat during filming of a scene.
While waiting for the rest of our group to visit the set we had the chance to sit in one of the crew chairs. Yes I felt special and important, can’t you tell. It was such a cool experience.
We played around with Ali Wong and Carly Hughes. They both were hilarious and so much fun. Carly gave our group big hugs when she walked past us on set. Complimented us all, saying we were so beautiful. She has such a beautiful spirit. I loved her from the show and my interaction with her sealed my love for her even more.
It was an honor to meet Leslie Bibb. She was really nice and had a great time snapping photos with our group.
And my time on set ended with a photo with Katy Mixon. She was so sweet and it was such a pleasure meeting her. We chatted about the show and she was happy to hear how much we liked it. She says it’s a show she loves and she really believes in it. I can’t wait to see the rest of the episodes of American Housewife.
Katie Otto, a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with “perfect” mommies and their “perfect” offspring. Katie’s perfectly imperfect world is upended when her neighbor’s decision to move notches her up from her ideal social standing and sets her on a path to ensure that doesn’t happen, regardless of the consequences.
The Nap – airs tonight at 8:30/7:30c on ABC. All Katie wants is a good, long nap after the kids keep her up all night. But when Greg gets the flu, she doesn’t get a minute to herself. Her exhaustion reaches critical mass with a confrontation with the school’s officious crossing guard (guest star Kate Flannery, “The Office”).
