Jake & Miller’s Big Adventure Book Review
When I was asked to check out a kids book that helped them with learning about prepping I was excited to read it and learn more. I am not really a prepper, but I love watching those shows and I think there’s a lot to learn about being more prepared for emergencies. Most people aren’t properly prepared when a major storm hits so I wanted to share this book with my readers. Thanks to the publisher I received a copy for review purposes.

About Jake & Miller’s Big Adventure:
It’s never too early to start learning about prepping.
Introducing “Jake & Miller’s Big Adventure,” a full-color, illustrated children’s book that will teach kids they shouldn’t be scared when they’re prepared for a disaster!
This prepper’s book for kids follows the young, intrepid explorer Jake and his dog Miller as they fill up their backpacks with all the necessities (a first aid kit, crank radio, Mylar blankets, water filters and more!) they could need for any possible emergency situation.
As they travel through dark caves, dry deserts and snowy mountains, Jake and Miller show the importance of these life-saving preparedness skills.
With “Jake & Miller’s Big Adventure,” young readers will discover how to stay safe, healthy and happy even in the scariest of adventures—whether deep in the jungle or hunkering down at home.
My thoughts:
According to the author of this book its never too early to start prepping and I have to say after reading the story of Jake and his dog Miller that I couldn’t agree more. At it’s core the story helps kids understand how they can prepare for any type of adventure. It discusses food prepping for any type of trip. They talk about ways to travel when they are on their adventures. They address bravery when talking about being out in the dark and the importance of owning lots of flash lights. Housing is discussed when Jake is showing his tent to Miller. They even address first aid preparedness. Let me tell you that even I don’t have some of those basic items in my home. I can’t tell you how many times we get major snow storm warning in the winter and rush to the store to purchase water and batteries and they are always out. Even now writing this post I can say that I don’t have extra batteries for emergencies. I really enjoyed this book because at the heart of this book is a lesson for people of all ages to start with the basics of being prepared. It’s not just for getting your kids ready for me. It really opened my eyes to the importance of being ready for any situation. Ig you are a prepper and you want to find ways to get your younger children interested this is a great book. If you’re like me and you’re thinking about getting started then pick up the book and see what you need to get started besides batteries, flashlights and a first aid kit.
