Introducing the T-fal OptiGrill
Summer is almost over and for people like me who live in areas with snow and harsh winters that means that grilling season is coming to an end. I participated in a blogger bash with T-fal for the OptiGrill. I received a grill to review. Any opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced.
You’ve probably owned some sort of electronic grill before. I know I’ve had my fair share of indoor grills and none of them come close to the features of the OptiGrill. While I was unboxing my grill I was checking out all the features of the grill and I was immediately impressed. One of the highlight features of the OptiGrill is the automatic censor that measures the thickness of the meat you are grilling and it cooks it to the perfect grilling level every time. The grill even senses how the amount of food on the grill.
If you’re a steak and potatoes person you are going to love having this grill around. I really wanted to have it because in the winter and cold months my husband can grill up just about anything he wants. The grill is a nice size as you can see from the picture. It can hold a few items at once.
The smart cooking meter lets you know the right time to of when your food is ready. If you’re cooking a steak just follow the color indicator and you end up with the prefect steak every time. The white circle actually blinks different colors as the cooking process continues. When you plug-in the grill wait for it to complete the pre-heating stage. The indicator will be pink and once it’s ready it will beep, place your meat on the grill to begin the start of the cooking process. Yellow for rare, orange for medium and red for well done.
The grill also has pre-programmed features for easy grilling. If you’re cooking from frozen just hit the snowflake button then choose one of the pre-set option and the “OK” button to start. Now you don’t have to stress if you forget to take something out for dinner. I made burgers straight from the freezer with mines and they came out perfectly grilled and juicy. No one knew they were completely frozen when I started cooking them. The presets include:
- Burgers
- Poultry
- Sandwiches
- Pork, Sausages
- Red Meat
- Fish, Seafood
- Manual (M button) for fruits and vegetables
The quick grilling guide lets you know exactly what preset button to use on your grill to get the best results for your meal. So there’s not guess-work involved and with the automatic sensor the grill knows exactly how long it will take to cook your food so it’s perfectly cooked and still juicy and tasty.
If you’re looking for ideas to get you started the OptiGrill also has a starter cook book with 32 mouth-watering recipes to choose from, you’re sure to find something you like in the book.
The grill is slightly slanted but it has very wide plates. It’s designed to open all the way so all your food gets the perfect grill marks. Unlike other grills that just open from the front and you lose all the space on the back of the grill. I also love that these plates are removable so clean up is a breeze. No more fussing and trying to figure out how to keep the bottom of the grill from getting wet. The drip tray fits under the entire grill so none of the grease falls on your counter tops for floor. Cleaning my grill overall was very easy and simple, nothing stuck to the grill plates.
The grill design is sleek and would fit in just about any kitchen. I plan to replace some of my other cooking appliances and only use the OptiGrill. I’ve been using mines to make hot dogs for the kids, grilled cheese sandwiches and I’ve use it to make dinner several times since taking it out the box. The OptiGrill can be purchased at Walmart for $179.99.
Thanks to the generosity of T-fal one lucky reader will win their very own OptiGrill. The giveaway is open to US residents 18 and older. Ends September 19th, enter via the tool below. Good Luck.
