Inside Out DVD Review
If you haven’t seen the movie Inside Out yet I do recommend that you rent or buy it as soon as possible and watch the film. I’d been super excited about this movie all year and when we received a copy to review I was super excited. The kids were even more excited than I was. We watched the movie the same day it arrived and it was beyond what we ever expected it to be.
Inside Out introduces us to the emotions inside our heads. This story mainly follows the main character Riley. When the movie started we first met Joy and within a minute Sadness joined the film. Shortly after Fear, Anger and Disgust joined the party and command central.
The movie deals with Riley’s emotions and how she handles her parent’s sudden move to a brand new state. She leaves behind all her friends, her hockey team, and everything she knows and loves. It’s rough and something we all can identify with on some level. This really hit home for me because my family moved from Trinidad to the United States. My first year living in the US was rough. I didn’t want to be here at all and it made me sad. I miss all my family and friends. This movie reminded me of how I eventually settled in at my new school.
My family absolutely loved this movie. We found ourselves cheering for Joy when the movie first started and ending up on team Sadness. I loved all the imagination that when into making this film. The characters were lovable and all played their parts well. It really made me wonder what goes on inside our heads. From the bonus features we really loved the “Riley’s First Date” Clip (check it out below). The Lava Short was also sweet and beautiful. Be sure to check out those bonus features to learn more about the making of the film.
About Inside Out Movie
Do you ever look at someone and wonder what’s going on inside their head? Disney-Pixar’s “Inside Out” takes an exciting and hilarious journey into the mind to find the answer. Based in Headquarters, the control center of 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy. She strives to make sure Riley stays happy as she operates alongside fellow emotions Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. It’s “an instant classic,” raves Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times.
