I’m Heading to LA for the Captain America Press Event
This March I attended a blogger press event at the White House. While sitting at my table with area bloggers waiting on the First Lady Michelle Obama to come give remarks about her Let’s Move initiative, somehow the conversation got switched to Disney. I shared with them my ‘Wish List’ of press trips I would love an invite to this year. If you’re a blogger that wants to get on Disney Press Trips you have a list too. Mines included Zootopia, Captain America: Civil War, Finding Dory, The BFG, and Moana were all on my ‘I Really Want’ list. Dr. Strange, Queen of Katwe, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Pete’s Dragon were close behind. They shared their lists with me, and the last thing I mentioned was as much as I would love to attend the Captain America Event it probably wouldn’t work because I will be attending Disney Social Media Moms Conference the week before the movie gets released. I guess putting it out in the universe helped because later than night I opened up my email with an amazing invitation to attend the #CaptainAmericaEvent this April in LA.
We’re already on countdown to the #CaptainAmericaEvent. I leave for LA on April 9th, and once I get there, myself and 24 other bloggers will be attending a screening of the Captain America Civil War movie, attending a press event with talent from the film, plus getting some behind the scenes exclusives of shows on ABC and Disney Channel.

This is Civil War and we had to choose sides, I picked #TeamIronMan. Our team includes 12 of the bloggers on the trip and I can’t wait to attend this amazing event. Have you chosen a side? If not maybe having a look at the latest trailer from the film will help you decide which side you’re on.
Did you get chills? I sure did. I can’t wait to see this movie, just to find out how they connect the dots. I’ll miss Thor but I’m excited to see the addition of Black Panther, Ant-Man, and Spider Man is making a cameo. Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on May 16th, 2016.
Captain America isn’t the only good thing on our itinerary either, check out all the other amazing things we’ll be doing while in LA this upcoming weekend.
On Sunday evening we will join Jenna Bans, the creator & executive producer of ABC’s new drama, “The Family“ (Sundays at 9/8c), as well as available cast, for a family-style dinner, some live tweeting of episode 7, as well as a special sneak preview of episode 8 along with a Q&A. Be sure to hope on Twitter and live tweet with us following the hashtags #TheFamily #ABCTVEvent it’s going to be bananas. If you haven’t seen this show yet you’re seriously missing out, and if you have drop a question below for cast members. In addition to Jenna Bans we’ll be spending the evening with Zach Gilford, Floriana Lima, and Alison Pill.
On Monday we will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the newest addition to #TGIT on ABC: “The Catch” (from the producers of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder”), Alice Vaughan is LA’s top private investigator, but when her fiancé Benjamin Jones cons her out of millions and disappears, she goes on a private mission for payback stopping at nothing to catch her man. “The Catch” airs on Thursdays at 10/9c.
Another fun item on the agenda includes getting a sneak peek at the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Adventures in Babysitting” inspired by the hugely popular 1980s film of the same name. Starring are Sabrina Carpenter (of Disney Channel’s hit comedy series “Girl Meets World”) and Sofia Carson (of the hit Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants”). In “Adventures in Babysitting,” a dull evening for two competing babysitters, Jenny (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lola (Sofia Carson), turns into an adventure in the big city as they hunt for one of the kids who somehow snuck away. Check out the trailer below.
Adventures in Babysitting premieres on the Disney Channel in Summer 2016. I know my kids will be watching this over and over again. I’m happy because hopefully this means Descendants is getting a break. LOL.
Our trips got even better as we got closer because The Real O’Neals was added to the line up and let me tell you if you’re not watching this show I suggest your binge watch all the episodes on Watch ABC now. During the event we’ll be screening upcoming episodes of The Real O’Neals, followed by Q&As with Noah Galvin (Kenny), Matt Shively (Jimmy), Mary Hollis Inboden (Aunt Jodi) and 3 of the Executive Producers (Casey Johnson, David Windsor and Stacy Traub). #TheRealONeals airs Tuesdays at 8:30/7:30c on ABC!
#TeamIronMan has some great things going on before the event. We have an awesome giveaway for a Disney Infinity set that includes characters from Civil War and tomorrow (April, 6th @8 PM/EST) we’re having a Twitter Party with over $500 in prizes be sure to join in the fun. So now I want to know what on this list makes you excited and what questions do you have for talent or show executives? Be sure to leave them in the comments below.
